Maverick Telugu Desam Party MP Nandamuri Harikrishna has done it again. Nursing a strained relationship with his brother-in-law N Chandrababu Naidu over the succession issue, he once again made a public display of his disdain for the party chief.
Harikrishna walked out of the party’s brain-storming session in Hyderabad on Tuesday in a huff. Even as the proceedings were on, with Naidu in the chair, Harikrishna stood up and paced towards the exit as the party leaders watched in disbelief.
Harikrishna, who is also a Politburo member, turned up in the morning for the two-day brain-storming meeting. However, soon after Naidu concluded his speech, Harikrishna left the venue abruptly without informing anyone.
The party sources say that Harikrishna’s actions clearly showed that he was determined to send strong signals about his resentment.
Harikrishna indulged in similar antics during the recent “Mahanadu” meeting.
The communication between Naidu and Harikrishna has completely collapsed in recent times. The simmering succession battle in the first family of TDP has taken a heavy toll on the party. It is said that Harikrishna is peeved over the manner in which Naidu was promoting his industrialist-son Nara Lokesh as the successor to the party’s throne.
