'Bejawada Rowdilu' for Dussera

Ram Gopal Varma said in a statement that Bejawada Rowdilu completed its first schedule in Vijayawada city as per their scheduled plan and was not stopped because of Police bosses dropping off the permission. On Wednesday (May 25, 2011) morning, Vijayawada Police claimed that they stopped the film's shoot as the movie's content might provoke caste wars again. The police said they would only allow the movie's shoot if they provide script of the film to them to which the director and unit members refused to present.

But by afternoon, RGV sent press note that police did not stop the film. "We have completed schedule in the city already and moved to Hyderabad city for fresh shoot as per their plan. By August we will finish the entire movie and planning to release on Dussera," he said.

The film is produced by Ram Gopal Varma and directed by newcomer Vivek starringNaga Chaitanya in the lead role. The film was shooting in Vijayawada for past few days, which irked several leaders in the city, and they demanded to stop the movie, as the movie's content is too controversial and might lead to fresh violence. 

Bejawada Rowdilu is all about the rivalry between two gang leaders in the city in the 1980's. Though it is fictional story, the film is reportedly has obvious references to the then gang leaders of two different communities. 

Heroine for the movie has not yet been finalized. 

Nagarjuna's interest in Vijayawada politics!

Our filmmakers have suddenly found Vijayawada's bloody past is worthy enough to be a super hit commercial film. Ram Gopal Varma and Deva Katta announced two films based on the gang wars of Vijayawada. RGV's is Bezawada Rowdeelu and Deva's movie is titled Autonagar Surya.     Both the films deal with the same subject in different perspectives. Interestingly Naga Chaitanya is roped in for both the movies as the protagonist. Ramu and Deva narrated the script to different heroes but none of them showed interest in it as the central point is controversial.     Nagarjuna, who is against such controversies, has surprised everyone by Okaying both the films. Nobody knows the intention behind Nagarjuna's decision but these films will certainly set ablaze the subdued gang wars in Bezawada, opine analysts.

Bejawada Rowdylu shooting to begin on May 7

The regular shooting of ‘Bejawada Rowdylu’ to be presented by Ram Gopal Varma and produced byKoneru Kirankumar on the banner of Shreya Productions introducing RGV’s associate Vivek as director is most likely to begin on May 7. Naga Chaitanya is playing the protagonist in this film and he would resume the shooting from June 8. The film unit is planning a 23-day schedule in Vijayawada for the movie.
