Vinayak's lesson from 'Badrinath'

Vinayak's lesson from 'Badrinath'

Like director Rajamouli who learnt a lesson of his life with ‘Magadheera,’ now Film industry sources say that director vv vinayak has also learnt a new chapter of his profession with disturbing result of ‘Badrinath.’ Yes, if Rajamouli became experienced on how to handle a shoe-string budget and magnanimous success with ‘Magadheera,’ nevertheless Vinayak for the first time got acquaintance in dealing with big-hearted and suspicious success with ‘Badrinath.’
Clever knack of Rajamouli was even evidential when he selected a movie like ‘Maryada Ramanna’ next to ‘Magadheera’ thus decreasing the expectations with lowest star cast involved on the project. Now, Vinayak has to be utmost careful in opting the immediate subject and budget that is to succeed ‘Badrinath.’ Let us wait and see, where will Vinay Anna land now?

Why Jr. NTR jealous with 'Badrinath'?

Why Jr. NTR jealous with 'Badrinath'?

Both ‘Shakti’ and ‘Badrinath’ are made with similar story lines and similar budgets but the results are dissimilar. Quite a coincidence is that, junior ntr and Allu Arjun were the only saviors for the films as direction, story and script hasn’t helped the lavish budget spent by wonderful producers. Then result is negative talk prevailed in market from the first day of release. From here on story and fates are different.

While Geetha Arts is aggressively promoting ‘Badrinath’ without showing spine, ‘Shakti’ team never co-operated with producer in helping his trials to pull the movie to an average grosser. If dedication is the only word from Geetha camp still making ‘Badrinath’ to sustain the second week collections, by fifth and sixth day ‘Shakti’ pitifully died. Well, now Tarak is heard to be expressing his anger on Aswini Dutt & Co. for making ‘Shakti’ severely suffer at BO without going for any combative promotion. Hmmm…is Tarak feeling the heat of jealous with ‘Badrinath’ as a comparison is inevitable with ‘Shakti’?

Report: Big Disasters In USA

The overseas market has become a crucial aspect for Tollywood economics. Given the significant presence of Telugus across the world, especially the US, focus has been on the rise. However, call it the greed of the producers or wrong estimations, most of the Telugu films are turning out to be disasters overseas. Here is a look at few ventures gone wrong in USA.

‘100% Love’ got a hit talk but then it suffered losses upto nearly Rs 20 lakhs. The only movies which became profitable this year are ‘Mr Perfect’ and ‘Mirapakaya’. ‘Sakthi’ came in with a total cost of Rs 1.85 cr and could recover only Rs 45 lakhs. The much talked about ‘Badrinath’ came in at a cost of Rs 1.6 cr but it recovered only Rs 35-40 lakhs.

‘Anaganaga Oka Dheerudu’ was another hyped venture which cost the US distributors a whopping Rs 1.2 cr but in return, it got only Rs 10 lakhs. ‘Veera’s total cost was Rs 70 lakhs but it recovered only Rs 5 lakhs. Finally, there was ‘KSD Appalraju’ which was sold at Rs 50 lakhs and resulted in a loss of Rs 50 lakhs, it just recovered theatre rentals.

Distributors are hoping it is time producers open their eyes and reduce the overseas prices if a balance has to be struck. If this continues, the chances are that the USA Market considered to be the strongest for overseas will fizzle out.

Bunny Vs Jr NTR: Who Got Better Marks?

Well…the summer season has come to an end and the box office went dry as usual. The two promising movies ‘Shakti’ and ‘Badrinath’ have come and scored duds. Now, for consolation sake, many are trying to pick the better things. With this, a comparison was drawn between NTR Junior and Allu Arjun.

The question is – who was better? Well, this should sound like music to the mega camp because most of the marks have been taken by Bunny. Apparently, the unanimous feeling is that Bunny looked apt as the warrior with well toned physique and committed performance as a protector.

On the other hand, Junior looked disinterested in ‘Shakti’ and to make things worse, his hairstyle and his pant made him look like a clown. For now, the cine folks are giving covering by saying that past is past, let us wait for the next line up of flicks from the two and take a call.

Badrinath 1 Week Collections 28. 25 crores

Badrinath one week collections: Allu Arjun's Badrinath movie 1 week collections amounted to Rs. 28. 25 crores. Badrinath producer Allu Aravind in a press meet said that Badrinath movie 1st week collections were Rs. 28. 25 crores and share was 20.75 crores. The movie collections were also recorded as the biggest in this year so far. This Badrinath's 1 week collection is the second highest collections in Telugu film industry history it seems and the first highest collections went to Magadheera, which also belongs to Geetha Arts.

Badrinath 1 week collections, Badrinath one week collections, Badrinath 1st week collections, Badrinath movie 1 week collections, Badrinath movie one week collections

During Badrinath's success meet in Hyderabad, producer Allu Aravind said that Badrinath one week collections gross was Rs. 28.25 crores and share was rs. 20.75 crores – the second highest after Magadheera. Badrinath movie was released on June 10 with high expectations but did not meet the required rigor. However, it terms of colletions, perhaps Badrinath movie 1 week collections is one of the biggest so far.

Audience scratching heads @ 'Badrinath'

Audience scratching heads @ 'Badrinath'
When a movie collects whopping Rs.17 Crores by the end of third day of release, what should we this, either a hit or a flop? This question is teasing the brains of Telugu audience ever since Allu Aravind released the record figures of ‘badrinath’ to media and public. While talk for the film in market is still divided yet the reports shown by Allu are quite interesting. Apparently duty of viewers is to watch the film and forget the rest but when something of this kind of arguable numbers are dropped into public, debates are prone to increase and movie is to get extra publicity.

One of the close observers of these movie collections is heard saying, ‘these days none of the collection reports released by producers are authentic. This has become a game for each individual to show their superiority in industry. Contrary to this, we even have genuine hits from small and medium producers whose records never come out. Audience have to just scratch their heads seeing this entire ham buck.’

Badrinath 3 days collections

Badrinath 3 days collections

The much awaited movie of the season Allu Arjun’s Badrinath though opened with divided talk had collected a whopping of 16.5 crore in its first 3days. All the morning shows in AP theaters  were House-Full says Allu Arvind, the producer of badrinath.

Total Collections : 16.5 crore

Only Andhra Pradesh : 14.1crore

Nizam: 5 crore

Ceeded: 3.5 crore

Andhra : 5.6crore

Is 'Badrinath' Hit or Flop???

Is 'Badrinath' Hit or Flop???
Quanta of questions are engulfing this huge budgeted flick from the last three days. While a negative publicity is on a spree that 'Badrinath' is a dud movie, the trade equations are proving the other side. So, is 'Badrinath' a hit or flop?

As expected, the mixed talk of the film is unable to ruin the collections of the flick in these initial days. The film went on to become the third biggest opener of Telugu Industry's Box Office by collecting more than 16.5 crores in first three days across India. Though the film is not up to expectations, Allu Arjun’s energy and dances along with Tamanna's oomph became biggest assets to drive audience to theatres. The real reason behind this is that there is no mass flick at present to enthrall the B&C Centre audience, where the collections of 'Badrinath' are high. Both 'Mr.Perfect' and '100% Love' are for 'A' centre audiences with a tinge of 'class' touch. This is surely paving way for the success and recovery of investments for 'Badrinath', a movie which is just better than Jr NTR's 'Shakti'. Critics are saying that there is no second thought in saying the movie is a flop, despite of its records and collections.

Allu Arjun is the next Megastar!

Allu Arjun is the next Megastar!
Stylish Star Allu Arjun may not have made it to the top four in Tollywood, but he is doing it with style in Mollywood. We all know that Allu Arjun has a special craze among Mallus. With 'Badrinath' he proved that he is one of the biggest stars in Malayalam cinema. 'Badrinath' collected a share of 67 lakh rupees in just three days in Kerala.

Only megastars of Malyalam cinema, Mammootty and Mohanlal had managed to collect as much. Allu Arjun has done the same with a dubbed film. Imagine what would be the impact if he does a straight Malayalam film? Though two other straight Malayalam films along with 'Badrinath', they have been washed out without a trace in Badrinath's tsunami. Most importantly,  the combined collections of both these films in first three days isn't even half of Allu Arjun's Badrinath.

Trade pundits from Kerala say that no one would dare to release their film along with Allu Arjun's next film by looking at the current trend. Although 'Badrinath' is not carrying positive talk in Kerala too, it would end up as a profitable project to Mallu buyers who have bought the film for 1.1 crore rupees. They would make a profit of 25 lakhs with Badrinath, say trade analysts. And remember, this film is running with a bad talk. The profits would have multiplied by four if it got a better talk. Great going Allu Arjun, you’re the next Megastar of Mallu-land.

'Badrinath' Ball Is In The Audience's Court

They have done everything required. Without thinking twice about money, they re-shot several scenes. Unlike the earlier films of Allu Arjun, they have provided extreme exposing from heroine.

Keeping aside their egos and viewing the craze Tamannah has got, she was given equal preference in publicity along with Allu Arjun. Finally, they also released solo stills from Tamannah. Bunny has given interviews to TV channels for hours together. To make things better, they made V V Vinayak repeat that it is not an action flick but a pure love story mixed with action.

Prints are dispatched and distributors along with hardcore fans have begun watching the special show of ‘Badrinath’. Already, reel to reel report is coming out. In few hours, initial report will arrive. The ball of ‘Badrinath’ will go into audience’s court in some time. Whether ‘Badrinath’ will put a brake to the string of flops for Bunny or not, we will know in few minutes…

Rajni says I have lots of fans in Karnataka: Allu Arjun

With the film Badrinaadh set to hit the screens this week, Telugu star Allu Arjun is naturally excited. He’s been touring across the southern states to promote the film and Bangalore, incidentally, was on the top of his list of places to be. And there’s good reason for that too.
The film, he says, is easily the most expensive one he has been part of. “I’m not just an actor in this movie; I’m also the producer’s son,” says Arjun, who feels a close connection with the film as he has also been involved in its production.
There is also an impressive sequence of songs and dances, he says, “I think the audience can expect good dances from this movie, I am saying this humbly, not overconfidently. I had a good choreographer.”
Arjun has come back to working with Chinni Krishna, the screenplay writer, who also wrote Arjun’s debut film Gangotry. “I think Chinni has done a fab job,” says Arjun, adding, “I hope the audience receives it well.”
The actor also reveals that the preparation for this role was rather intense. The intricate storyline has Arjun playing an Indian samurai, a role for which he had to spend two months in Vietnam — preparing for.
“Peter Hein has directed the fight sequences. I trained under a woman namedLee, who is a professional and has even participated at national level competitions,” he says. The amount of training and hard work that went into the film is no joke, as Arjun insists. “We shot continuously for 60 days in the Himalayas, and that has never been done before. We filmed in spite of the critical weather conditions,” he says.
The film is the only Telugu film to be releasing simultaneously in Malayalam also. “The Malayalam film industry is extremely supportive,” Arjun says. But that isn’t the only industry he is happy with.
Arjun speaks of the audience in Karnataka with enthusiasm, and says he finds the industry here very receptive. “Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are close neighbours and our languages are similar; so the audiences are good.” Certainly, Allu Arjun has a huge number of fans in Bangalore.
“Superstar Rajinikanth told me there’s a huge craze in Karnataka for me. This was Rajinikanth! Talking to me about craze! Coming from him, it was the best compliment I’ve ever got.”

Jr NTR Fans @ 'Badrinath' Theatres

The clock is ticking and within few hours, the much talked about movie ‘Badrinath’ will be hitting the screens. Reports are arriving that crowds are already gathering across theatres in various parts of Andhra Pradesh. But here is the interesting twist in all this.

Sources say most of these groups comprise of NTR Junior fans and other Nandamuri camp members. Well, the reason for that is they are waiting to draw a comparison with ‘Shakti’ and come out with analysis on which among the two is better.

As such, the inside talk is that Junior’s fans are keen to establish that ‘Shakti’ is far better than ‘Badrinath’. While their efforts are on, the fans from Allu Arjun camp are working real hard to ensure it gets past ‘Magadheera’. In few hours, we will know if ‘Badrinath’ becomes ‘Shakti’ or beats ‘Magadheera’.

VV Vinayak Shocked In Vizag

The noted director V V Vinayak is currently biting his nails as his movie ‘Badrinath’ is about to hit the screens. However, more than the tension of that, it is heard that he was in for a shock when he visited the steel city of Vizag. Well, here is the reason for that.

Sources say that there are huge hoardings of Allu Arjun and V V Vinayak and both are of same height. In between there is Tamannah in a small cut-out. Well, the reason for that is Vinayak has a theatre in Vizag and his good friend Rajamouli’s family along with Keeravani’s family is watching the film on the first day.

There is also a talk that Vinayak has got hand in the distribution of the film for Vizag area. Looking at the hungama in Vizag, many are asking doubtfully if the real hero for ‘Badrinath’ is Vinayak or Allu Arjun. The cine folks are quipping that the hero is only a magnet of the audience for the film but the real hero is the director.

Tamanna takes a risk for Badrinath

Tamanna takes a risk for Badrinath
Don't be surprised about the heading thinking that its Allu Arjun who is the one risked for  the movie Badrinath but buzz is that Tamanna has also did some stunts without a doop for a risky shot of jumping from a Bridge and the unit is very proud of her for her brave stunt.

Bunny is acting as a traditional Indian fighter in the movie produced under the banner Geetha Arts by producer Allu Araving, movies is based on the sacred place Badrinadh and music is by M M Keervani, cinematography by Ravi Varman.

'Badrinath' Censor Report?

The much awaited and most talked about movie of the season is ‘Badrinath’. With the hype that it is meant to exceed the expectations of ‘Magadheera’, many are eagerly waiting for its release on June 10th. Meanwhile, the film has gone through the censor report and this usually gives the first hand information.

Sources say the Censor is done and because of that, many are anxiously calling the censor board members and pestering them to know the outcome. But then it is heard that the censor board folks are keeping quiet. It seems they are saying “Now is not the time to tell”.

This has given rise to new speculations. A noted distributor said “Usually, if the film is positive then they will tell it or convey it secretly. But being silent, I don’t know whether it is out of ‘Vrutthi Dharmam’ (integrity of duty) or if the film is really not positive. We are hoping the film is good. It is just that either the censor members are being very professional or don’t want to get into any controversies.”

Badrinath to put breaks for Allu Arjun’s FS!

Allu Arjun was once considered as the hero with golden arm. All his initial films were hits. Except Happy, which was a decent earner in few regions rest of the films in Bunny’s first five flicks were hits. However, his struggles started with Arya 2 in which he played an eccentric role that didn’t go down well with the masses.
Although Arya 2 has cult following, it is too limited that the film ended up as a flop. However, well wishers of Bunny claim that it was commercial hit. But in fact it is not. Later Varudu proved to be the first major disaster in Allu Arjun’s career.
Vedam which was critically acclaimed was ended up as flop on the commercial front. With a row of flops Allu Arjun has taken big decision to do a film of Badrinath’s caliber. This film is one of the biggest budget films in Tollywood history. Allu Arjun hopes that this film would put breaks on his flop streak and get him back into winning ways. Let’s hope so.

Vinayak failed to analyse Rajamouli

Vinayak failed to analyse Rajamouli
Normally any director would come under high tension and get shaken physically when dealing with heavy budget flicks anything above Rs.35 Crores. In addition, if we have some body like Allu Aravind as producer and given the task to direct a film on par with the standards of ‘Magadheera,’ we can understand what could be the situation of VV Vinayak and what could be the position of ‘badrinath.’

Yes, we very well knew as what Rajamouli commented about Geetha Arts and Allu Aravind after the completion of ‘Magadheera.’ ‘I would never wish to work on this kind of colossal projects in future. This film is once for all in my career. Actually none of the directors would love to take the pain which I have undergone.’
Given the budget, number of working days, the magnanimity, kind of storyline…on every aspect, target of ‘badrinath’ will be to reach ‘Magadheera’…which might be done wantedly or unwantedly. Does this mean that Vinayak is also subjected to same kind of mental pressure as Rajamouli? This would certainly assert to Vinayak's failing to understand and analyse the stressed words of Rajamouli as said above.

Of course, it is the final result that matters. Let us wish that ‘badrinath’ stands on equal platform with ‘Magadheera’ or even a step above. Good luck to VV Vinayak and his team.
