Tollywood In Biggest Losses Ever

This might be a hard fact to digest but then it is the truth. The situation of the Tollywood circuit is going from bad to worse. Well, the industry is facing the biggest losses ever with almost every cinema going to the docks. The impact is high when big budget flicks with big stars tend to flunk at the hands of the audience.

One of the promising movies ‘Teen Maar’ also got good take off and a response from A centers but it is heard that the collections are affected at B, C centers. Usually, it is only the masses who form the repeat audience. In the bargain, it is the distributors, exhibitors etc who are the worst affected.

They can’t pay theatre rents when they don’t get their money and they end up investing in films. Inside talk is that usually it is the canteen owners, cycle stand owners who decide the fate of a film in the theatre. If crowds are not in, they reportedly pressurize the theatre owners to remove the film since their collections are down.

Perhaps it is time for the Tollywood folks to do some revamping of their fundamentals and concepts.

Can 'Teen Maar' overtake 'Puli'???

Can 'Teen Maar' overtake 'Puli'???The heading might put you into confusion that why we are comparing disastrous 'Puli' with superhit 'Teen Maar'. Here are the reasons why we are doing so!

'Teen Maar' is the only film of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan to generate such a positive talk after 'Kushi', in his entire career. Even the previous hit 'Jalsa' struggled with negative talk in the start before it ended up as a smashing hit. However, despite of these super-positive talks, the films collections at BO are dropping slowly. In areas like Ceded and Krishna, the film has not even grossed more than Puli’s collections.

Fans are unable to digest this fact and the reasons behind this lesser collections of 'Teen Maar' are multiple. One among them is that the film is liked very much by the intellectual groups of audience, while it has no receivers at B and C centres. Now, tensions prevailed in fans and makers, could 'Teen Maar' overtake the collections of 'Jalsa' or at least 'Puli'!

Censor Board Angry On Pawan Kalyan

Right now, Pawan Kalyan is all smiles after looking at the reactions to his latest offering ‘Teen Maar’. While the makers are also satisfied with the outcome, it is heard that they have rubbed the censor board officials on the wrong side. It is heard that the censor folks are quite angry on the producers of ‘Teen Maar’.

Sources reveal that the board members had specifically told the makers to cut the lip kiss scenes between Pawan and Trisha but that didn’t happen. The makers have reportedly left the instruction to air and went ahead with the scenes onscreen.

Now, the cine folks are looking at this incident with great curiosity. A senior producer said “Let us see whether the censor board will take any action on this or not. Even if they take, there is no point since the film has done its share of business. But the chances are that if they don’t, then it will set wrong precedence and even other moviemakers might just get motivated to follow the same route.”

Problem with Pawan’s italian & spanish dialogues

Pawan Kalyan’s Teenmaar has been running to packed houses in “A” centers and many of the urban youth connected to movie’s content, especially in last 15 minutes.
But in “B” and “C” centers, viewers could not connect much to pawan’s italian and spanish dialogues, confusion in ‘Michael Velayudham character, though they liked Arjun Palwai.
The result was clearly seen in first weekend collections, where most was made from cities and abroad and in towns and villages the movie got openings only due to Powerstar’s craze but collections started dropping from monday.
Understanding this trend, director Harish Shankar is planning to induce all sorts of masala action, drama, dialogues etc. in Gabbar Singh movie, which is Dabangg‘s remake.
That is why Pawan Kalyan Creative Works team is taking extra time to make sure that this script comes out as a perfect entertainer for everyone, especially for those who feel unsatisfied with Teenmaar.
Before this, Pawan will be seen as a stylish mafia don in The Shadow and as a movie director in a movie based on Jesus Christ’s life, which will be released this year.
Gabbar Singh is planned for January 2012 release.

'Teen Maar' Overseas-BIG LOSER

Going forward, we are going to give the trade report of Overseas Telugu movies, as we don't want the overseas buyers to fall in the trap of greedy producers.
With their hype about each and every movie without knowing the facts of the trade, they push buyers to take their films which incur huge losses.
So, we are starting with 'Teen Maar's trade facts and this will be followed by 'Shakthi' and all other future movies.

Given below is the list of collections of 'Teen Maar'as per the dates.

Wed (Apr 13): $30K (Premiers in few centers only)
Thur (Apr 14): $75K
Fri (Apr 15): $76K
Sat (Apr 16): $110K
Sun (Apr 17): $37K

Total: $328K (Rentrak Reported Centers)

As per Rentrak, the highest 1st week Grossers till date are Khaleja-$490K, Robot-$390K (all the grosses are rounded to 1000s)

'Teen Maar' is the 3rd biggest opening. Remember the gross collections were not reported to Rentrak for Magadheera, Pokiri & Bommarillu. So, we don't know the exact gross to those movies, otherwise they would have been certainly in the top list. But during those days, the movies used to run for more than 4 weeks with good collections. Also, they used to release in less number of theaters, so it is not fair to compare those genuine blockbusters with these movies.

As per our estimation, 'Teen Maar' might collect another 20K in these 4 weekdays of first week and another 40K to 50K from its 2nd week onwards.

'Teen Maar's full run gross might end up at $600K in total (Rentrak Gross-$400K, Non Rentrak- $80K, and Sold Outright Non USA @$120K).

The rent+Sales Tax for USA Centers are one third of the total USA Gross, The Net Share of the Distributor/Exhibitor is $320K= Rs1.5Cr from USA, 55lakhs from Non-USA.

In 'Teen Maar's case, total returns from overseas are Rs 2.05cr, the movie was bought for Rs 2.5cr (2.25cr copy rights + 25laks prints), so NET LOSS is Rs 45 laks for a movie which got Hit talk & Super web reviews. This loss is only for Overseas Distributor and USA exhibitors. As per our information, Non-USA centers have also incurred huge losses especially in Gulf Region where Pawan Kalyan movies will have super Run, but this movie did not go well with masses in Gulf region, It is estimated that around 15laks are the losses for Non-USA exhibitors, the total loss of 'Teen Maar' for overseas territory is Rs 60 laks.

Overall, 'Teen Maar' is a BIG LOSER for overseas territory considering the HUGE price it was bought for. If the movie is bought for reasonably good price like Rs 1.5cr, all the buyers would have have atleast some profits after long time and hence movie would have been declared as a BIG HIT in overseas as well. So, technically 'Teen Maar' is a loser though it got HIT talk and good collections.

IPL Vs Pawan Kalyan: Who Scores?

Usually, it has been seen that there is a competition of sorts between Cricket and cinema. History has shown how a cinema gets hit badly due to a cricket match series.
But now, many are curious to see who is going to emerge as the winner this time. The tussle is between Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Teen Maar’ and ongoing Indian Premiere League T-20 cricket tournament.

Apparently, ‘Teen Maar’ has got a hit talk and considering Pawan’s last few releases which didn’t click, his fans are all thrilled and pumped up to promote this flick.
However, there is one talk that the mass audiences may not like this movie considering its genre, backdrop and sensitivity.

Few of them say it will work since the story will connect with all classes due to the flashback episode and the South Africa episode. However, the trade pundits say weekend is not the parameter to say that the film has got a hit talk.
They state that they will get the actual report on Monday. Usually, even Pawan’s flop films tend to have decent collections with barely 20% - 30% difference from first day to last day. Let us see whether it is the IPL fever or Pawan mania that will work now.

AP Talk: Pawan Kalyan Vs Lip Locks

Though it has been a while since the legacy of Chiranjeevi has got over, one star who is having a consistent following among the mega family is Pawan Kalyan. He arrived with his latest flick ‘Teen Maar’ and this has brought mixed reactions from his followers after watching his lip lock sequences with the leading lady Trisha. Here are few reactions from those who watched the film and few ardent fans of Pawan in the state.
Ravishankar, an AG office employee said “Unlike Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan has an image among all genres of audience, irrespective of fan groups. Especially, he has a wonderful image among family audience. But this time, he crossed the line and that too with Trisha.”
Sujatha, a housewife and mega fan said “Even today, families don’t go to theatres if there are lip kisses or bikini scenes. Although TVs show some extraas and internetculture is exposing today’s youth, parents are in conservative mode still so they would not like to go to theatres with families if such scenes are there.”
Mayank, a college student said ”Has Pawan done something wrong by kissing Trisha? These days, we have seen much worse scenes on the screen. Atleast, the sequencewas brief and was shot aesthetically.”
Subhash, an IT professional said “Earlier when we used to go to circus, girls used to do feats in short dresses, elders also used to come but their enjoyment was watching the girls while the kids enjoyed the feats. So what’s the big deal if Pawan has kissed?”
Arpita, who got married recently said “Cinema is a mix of everything- humor, eroticism, comedy, sentiment and it is all in the minds of the audience how they take it. As such, it is not the hero or the heroine but the requirement of the story which makes the actors get into lip locks. Otherwise, I don’t think Pawan Kalyan or Trisha would do it just like that.”
Antara, another employee said “Times are changing and if Pawan has to go with the flow, he has no choice, I see nothing wrong with it.”
Manjula however had a different opinion “See, Pawan Kalyan has an image and he has been clean all this while though he is naughty. But seeing him doing kisses with someone like Trisha is weird. I can expect that with someone like Kamal Haasan but Pawan…never.”
While the reactions are varied, the lip locks have taken place, what remains to be seen is whether Pawan would continue it in his future projects or not.

Pawan settling the Box Office scores

Pawan settling the Box Office scores'Jalsa' was the last breathtaking hit from Pawan Kalyan. Years passed and 'Puli' failure abashed his career upsetting the fans. In contrast Pawan Kalyan has been growing miles and miles in image unmatched to any other hero in Tollywood. Under these tough circumstances, the most awaited movie 'Teen Maar' released in theatres on Thursday with extraordinary openings.

As per a report of producer Ganesh Babu, it is mind blowing to hear that 'Teen Maar' made a gross of Rs.9.4 Crores on the first day of release. The whopping shares of Nizam with Rs. 1.7 Crores, Ceded with Rs. 94 Lakhs, Guntur with Rs. 57 Lakhs, West Godavari with Rs. 39 Lakhs, East Godavari with Rs. 34 Lakhs and Krishna with Rs. 34 Lakhs are new records in every territory. If the positive mouth of talk is spread evenly in entire week, 'Teen Maar' may go onto reach a mark of more than Rs. 30 Crores in first week, an all time industry record. Unquestionably Pawan Kalyan is settling all the old dues scoring new records at Box Office.

Teenmaar collects RS 9.4 crore on first day :TV9

Ganesh, Nagababu Talks about Teenmaar Collections

Teenmaar Dancing at Box office - Record collections @ Day 1

9.4 Crores @ Day 1
Area wise breakup will be given just in minutes

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan collected Rs 9.4 crore across the state on the first day of its release. The movie producer Ganesh Babu informed that the flick ran for housefull shows in all the theatres screening Teenmaar.

In Nizam area alone the film collected Rs 1 crore 75 lakh rupees on Thursday alone. Ganesh Babu said that he is fortunate to have got a chance to produce a film with Pawan Kalyan. The movie unit called for a success meet on Friday at Ramanaidu studios. Producer Ganesh Babu, Powerstar's brother Nagababu and Nagaraju from Geeta Arts participated in the success meet.

Nagababu requested the fans to be aware of pirated CDs of Theenmaar and asked them to complain to authorities if they find them being sold.

"I am surprised at the correct judgement of producer Ganeshbabu. I congratulate him for the success of this film. The team put in a lot of effort to make such a pleasant movie. Pawan Kalyan too worked hard for this project. We got to know that there are pirated CDs of Teenmaar in market already. Pirated CD makers are equal to dacoits. They are looting the efforts of the entire unit and the poor producer. In the industry now there is a bad culture where a few feel happy if their competitor's movie bombs at the box office. This kind of bad culture must go" Nagababu said.

This Trisha starrer film was produced by Ganesh Babu on Parameshwara Arts banner.

Teen Baar smooched in Teen Maar!

Pawan Kalyan, who was known to be an introvert on and off screen, managed to shed his inhibitions and smooched trisha not once but thrice in Teenmaar. While first two were just like small pecks in first half, the last one towards climax was a long liplock. Even fans who never saw pawan get so romantic on screen, were shouting and whistling for these smooch scenes. Also his dialogues and stlying got good response from crowds.

With these elements making the movie recieve hit talk on day one, industry folks are now expecting Teenmaar to cross Magadheera’s records for first day and first week collections. Also, this being summer season, movie is getting additional benefit of students who desperately want to see a romantic movie in telugu.

Teenmaar Getting Positive Reviews from all Corners

Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Theenmaar’, the much-talked and much-expected film of the season had a huge release today in a record 1,150 theatres across the globe, creating a new record in Telugu Cinema. The film opened to positive reviews with good openings, and has been getting overwhelming response from all corners.

‘Theenmaar’ which is a remake of the Bollywood film ‘Love Aaj Kal,’ has already created a great impact with its songs. And now, with the film getting positive talk from all corners, it is likely to rock and become one of the biggest hits inPawan Kalyan’s film career.

After a long, long time (about a decade), Pawan Kalyan had come with a good romantic entertainer. This factor has allured the audience very much (especially Pawan Kalyan’s fans) and Pawan Kalyan has delivered up to their expectations. He rocked in both the roles (Michael Velayudhan and Arjun Palwai) and has shown superb changes in portraying them. And much to the delight of his fans, Pawan Kalyan added some songs, some scenes where Pawan showcases his culinary skills and a few Italian dialogues and some action sequences. This has added greatly to the enjoyment of audience.

Sources say that the film might collect about Rs 7 crore in Nizam area in the first week alone if the same trend continues. Similar reports are emerging from Cded and Andhra too. This will also be the highest ever collection for Pawan Kalyan in Nizam area in his career.

Response is very good from urban areas while the B centre theatres too are doing very well since there are mass elements like fights and catchy songs too.

Perhaps by forthcoming Monday, it will be clear where 'Theenmaar' stands in the box office.

Pawan Becomes Michael Velayudham In Real Life?

Pawan Kalyan must be smiling to himself after the initial response to his latest film ‘Teen Maar’. Many are saying that his character Michael Velayudham is appealing and entertaining. However, after watching the film, they are now stating if Pawan is actually becoming one in real life just like the reel life character.

Apparently, things have been on a bumpy side when it comes to Pawan’s marital life. Initially, it took him years to get separated from his first wife Nandini to marry his lady love Renu Desai. Just when everything looked fine, the latest update is that even Renu has left him and the reasons for that is unknown.

In all this, buzz is that Pawan is vexed with the happenings. And after watching his film, few of the audience said “Looks like Pawan will become Michael Velayudham in real life and stay away from love, marriage etc in future. He is drifting from his typical Arjun Palwai nature in the film to Michael Velayudham..”

Ganesh Babu 'Teen Maar' dances

Ganesh Babu 'Teen Maar' dancesWhat can a Producer ask for more other than the success talk for his movie on first day? ‘teen maar’ producer Ganesh Babu is no more the simple comedy personality. After making a high budget movie in record 96 days of time, he arranged for a grand release in nearly 1250 screens with out a delay. This is unique achievement for a budding producer and Parameswara Arts is all set to become most popular.

If reports from our internal film sources are to be believed, Ganesh Babu was waiting nervously from yesterday late night to find out the first verdict of movie. As the mid night and early morning shows all around the state are received with thundering applause, Ganesh Babu having known this went dancing ‘teen maar’ mass steps expressing his joy. This is of course happy to listen!
