YSR Congress party headed by Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy appears to have decided to strike the iron when it is hot.
At a time when health minister D L Ravindra Reddy appears beleaguered with stripping of his portfolios by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, YSR Congress party leaders came out with a strong allegation that DLR’s followers are resorting to witch-hunting of Jagan’s followers in Kadapa.
Party spokesman Bajireddy Goverdhan on Wednesday said ever since DLR was defeated in the Kadapa parliamentary by-elections, the Congress party leaders under the minister’s guidance were misusing the police and foisting false cases on YSR Congress Party workers.
“The district police, at the behest of DLR, are harassing our party workers. Nearly 367 persons, including 30 women, were booked under various sections, some of them non-bailable, as they are supporters of YSR Congress,” he said adding that rowdy sheets were opened against innocent people who were never involved in any cases.
He alleged that the Congress and Telugu Desam Party had joined hands in the harassment of YSRC party workers as both their candidates lost deposits in the by-election.
