TTD becoming Centre of Controversies

The sacred temple of Lord of Seven Hills is now becoming centre of too many controversies. On one side the Executive Officer of TTD L.V. Subrahmanyam is charge sheeted as Accused No. 9 in the Emaar Case. This has created shock in TTD circles. Some priests and agamacharyas have already started demanding his resignation from the post, as he is not fit to head a Dharma Palaka Mandali (Trustee Board) when there are allegations against him for being dishonest to the public exchequer.

     On the other hand, many religious heads are colliding head on with each other on the practices in Tirumala. Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy has visited Tirumala today with thousands of his followers. This yathra is termed as Dharma Yathra, journey of Dharma by certain people, whereas it is being looked at as Dandayathra, meaning the journey of war. Jeeyar attacked TTD authorities on a number of issues, particularly allowing numerous VIPs into the temple when common devotees are waiting for hours together for Darshan of the Lord outside the temple for more than 20-24 hours. He also said that the authorities are paying scant respect to the timings of worship in the temple.

   The Swamyji alleged that the TTD is not even allowing the Lord to have sufficient rest also, stretching the Darshan timings upto 12.30 to 2 am and again starting sevas by 3am, thereby giving the Lord just 2 hours of rest. He blamed this to the lack of devotion of authorities. The Swamyji wanted people who have enough knowledge about the sanctity of the Temple, the practices observed therein should only be posted as Trustees. He also announced that he is ready to discuss all the issues threadbare again with the TTD. An aid of the Swamyji said that they have a CD, wherein the TTD has accepted 110 wrong doings by them (TTD) in the Temple, a copy of which, he said, is also available with TTD.

    Whereas Jeeyar Swamyji says he is fighting on all these because, Tirumala is the most sacred place, other Swamyjis of repute see a different picture. Swamy Swaroopananda said that Chinna Jeeyar Swamyji is concentrating only on Tirumala Balaji because it is the richest temple. He questioned as to why Chinna Jeeyar Swamy is not fighting against the wrong doings in temples like Simhachalam or Yadagiri Gutta. Swamy Swaroopananda was vehement in his criticism of Chinna Jeeyar to the effect that he said Chinna Jeeyar is making a hill out of a mole.

   Though unrelated to the issue, the telecasting by a channel about Swamy Ganapathi Sacchidananda is also creating waves in AP. In that telecast, Swamy Ganapathi Sacchidananda was picturised as one who does not even know one single Veda or Sloka. The Channel alleged that due to this fact only, Swamy Ganapathi Sacchidananda took refuge in music therapy.

    However, people are in a fix these days, which Swamy to believe in or which one is disguising as Swamy. How will one know this.. Except to pray to God again, to listen to their woes, if is allowed time to do so
