Top Heroines Afraid Of Director's Torture

It is often said that top heroines tend to show their tantrums and airs making life difficult for directors and producers. But here is one director who has been giving some jitters to the top league ladies. Incidentally, the talk among the heroine circuit is that working with him would mean torture.

Well, he is none other than Shankar and here is the reason for this charge on him. Apparently, Shankar books a heroine for bulk dates and this could go upto two years. This has happened with Shriya for ‘Sivaji’ Aishwarya Bachchan for ‘Robot’. Due to the blocked bulk dates, there were no other film activities or no other exposure for the leading ladies.

Looking at the spate of Shriya and Ash, the other heroines are getting worried and thinking whether to associate with Shankar or not. Right now, few sources from Chennai say that even Ileana has begun to feel like that as she is currently working with Shankar for the Tamil remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’, which may go for years together. Let us see if Shankar has got an alternative for this.

Mahesh Babu's 'Costly' Understanding With Shankar

It has been quite a while since the talk was on about Mahesh Babu being part of the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘3 Idiots’. The remake is a bilingual and it is directed by Shankar. Now, sources reveal that Mahesh has finally said yes but with some really costly underlying conditions.

It is heard that the prince is charging a whopping Rs 12 crores remuneration. He has reportedly catered a 60 day call sheet and he would be paid a daily remuneration of Rs 20 lakhs, as per sources. And here is another condition from Mahesh to Shankar.

Talk is that Shankar has to come up with a bilingual movie for Mahesh and only on this condition will the prince join ‘3 Idiots’. Already, the shooting of the Tamil version is on and it has been titled as ‘Nanban’. Let us wait to hear a formal confirmation and announcement on this one though.

What's Wrong With 'Jai Bolo Telangana?'

The much-talked about film “Jai Bolo Telangana” directed by N Shankar on the backdrop of Telangana statehood agitation is facing troubles from Censor Board.

The film, scheduled to be released on January 28, could not get the nod from Censor Board, which obviously felt that the film, if released in its present form, might foment further troubles between the people of Telangana and Andhra regions. Some of the scenes and dialogues are said to be hurting the sentiments of Seemandhra people. The Board wanted all those scenes, dialogues and songs be deleted from the film.

Shankar, who made an appeal to the Central Censor Board, made it clear that he would not agree for any cuts. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists and OU students joint action committee leaders stormed the Censor Board office in Samachar Bhavan and staged a dharna.

The Telangana protagonists argue that the film was based on factual situations and there were no derogatory comments against other regions. Moreover, since the film will be released mostly in the Telangana region, there is no way the Andhra people would be agitated, they said.
