Sridevi-Boney in a cash crunch?

Producer Boney Kapoor’s decision to take up a corporate job has sparked off a huge debate in film circles. People are wondering about Sridevi’s spouse’s decision to do a nine-to- five in his 50s.

A source says, “Looks like Sri and Boney are facing a cash crunch. Boney’s two movies No Entry and Wanted did well at the box office — but his borrowings on two other films, one of which is an incomplete venture starring Genelia D’Souza and Harman Baweja — have reportedly run him into a financial mess.”

It is said that in a bid to pay back all debtors and to maintain a fancy lifestyle, the producer has decided to head the television division of an entertainment giant. An official from the company confirmed that Boney is on the board of directors and heading the entertainment section.

His remuneration is obviously on par with the best corporate honchos. A source indicates that one of the areas in which Boney reportedly spends heavily is his star wife’s lifestyle. It is alleged that the Kapoors spend somewhere around Rs 25 lakh per month on themselves. This expenditure includes Sri’s cosmetic and wardrobe expenses.

Apparently, the yesteryear diva continues to spend lavishly on her clothes. And, she is known to visit a leading beauty clinic in the suburbs of Mumbai regularly. An insider says, “The Kapoors run a fleet of cars, take five-star holidays to Europe/America each year and also dine out very often. Sri, who ruled Bollywood for a decade, is a high-maintenance wife. She will not compromise on her lifestyle.”

Incidentally, Sridevi’s film, directed by Gauri Shinde, wife of filmmaker R Balki (Cheeni Kum, Paa) is going on floors on July 7. And, she is rumouredly getting paid handsomely for this venture.

Sridevi-Boney Kapoor's Anger On Bharadwaj

This might sound unusual but then it is heard that the celebrity couple Sridevi- Boney Kapoor are reportedly miffed with our Thammareddy Bharadwaj. The reason for that happens to be an incident few years ago when the Telugu Desam Party was in power.
 
It is heard that during that time Sridevi wanted to buy a home and settle in Hyderabad. However,  Thammareddy who was leading the agitation of the small budget movie makers and artists held a meeting and fingered. It seems he stated that “CM Chandrababu Naidu is giving land to Sridevi, I don’t understand why he has to give that to Sridevi instead of giving it to our struggling Telugu artists”. This remark triggered enough fire and it is heard that CBN got concerned and backed out of the whole idea.
 

As a result, Sridevi never got to buy a proper piece of property at reasonable price in Hyderabad. All this came to light recently when Sridevi was in town recently and was expressing her thoughts with her friends. One of her friends revealed “Sri was very angry when she recalled that incident and even Boney is quite cheesed off with Bharadwaj it seems”.

Beautiful angel Sridevi was married to Boney Kapoor crushing many hearts many years ago. All these days Sridevi and Boney were living in a Juhu bungalow but recently shifted to suburban apartment as the lease period ran out. Asin, Tabu, Juhi were neighbors to Sridevi in those apartments. But now, since Boney’s parents (Surinder and Nirmala) have become very old, the concern on them pulled Boney and Sridevi to live along with elders.
