Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana, who incurred the wrath of the political and administrative circles for his “dirty” comment against senior IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, had to beat a hasty retreat and tendered apology.
Narayana said he would say sorry for his comment against Srilakshmi that she was a beautiful woman but with a dirty behavior.
“I did not intend to make any derogatory comment against her, but was making a general observation. If it hurt her and her colleagues, I am extremely sorry,” he said.
The maverick CPI leader, however, turned his focus on another woman – this time home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy. He said why should Sabita remain outside, when Srilakshmi was in the Chanchalguda jail for the same crime.
“When the corrupt ministers are royally moving outside, officials who followed their instructions are languishing in jails,” he said and demanded that Sabita, too, should be thrown behind the bairs.
