'Boothu Puranalu' in Puri's bedroom!

'Boothu Puranalu' in Puri's bedroom!
Old Telugu novels and Korea movie DVDs are said to be the most popular items in ace Tollywood director Puri Jagannath's personal wardrobe in his bedroom. However, the master film maker is striking all those wrong chords, with his boundless creativity.

With a negative talk spreading at a rage about his latest flick 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi', the director too become prey for sharp criticism. The dose of boothu comedy is gradually increasing in Puri's flicks is the point of critics now. Like from a family film to xxx film, puri's dose of vulgarity and adultery is increasing in his films with those separate comedy tracks. 'Ek Niranjan' and 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' are the best example for this adult comedy, which makes family audiences a bit apprehensive. While film nagar is talking about this 'boothu puranam', insiders are saying that Puri's wife started 'boothu panchangam' at this ace director after watching NNR with her friends and relatives!

Rana blames script writers

Rana blames script writers
Even though 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' is declared a dud, young hero Rana has confidence of making it big in Tollywood as an actor. He would become a promising artist only if necessary lessons are learnt from the past failures. Being three movies old, Rana has long way to go to prove as an actor like his uncle Venkatesh.

Indeed Rana is not only learning but also encouraging directors to come up with multi-starrer projects. He is waiting for a good script to share the screen with his uncle Venkatesh. "For last few years Telugu writers stopped coming up with good scripts," Rana blames it on failure of others. In fact there are better script writers in film industry but the vent to reach the right person is making it difficult for their growth. Rana feels that 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' is one such film not made on regular format but the basic essence of romantic thriller is intact. Contrarily audience gave a different verdict.

Will Rana Score Big With NNR Than DMD?

Whenever a celebrity kid is making his foray, the expectations are large and the hype is more than normal. Right now, that is the case with Daggubati Rana. Though he made his debut with a sober political thriller like ‘Leader’, many in the cine circuit say his current films are the real litmus test for this towering hunk.

Apparently, Rana made his debut in Bollywood with the latest release ‘Dum Maro Dum’ and reports are arriving positive on his looks and screen presence. In the home ground, the curiosity is more on his new movie ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ considering the fact that it is directed by a pure masala entertainer Puri Jagannadh.

As such, the trailers of ‘NNR’ show Rana gave an energetic performance and some found his screen chemistry with Ileana to be a highlight. But in the Bollywood debut, there were other established stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu etc. Here, it is going to be whole and sole Rana show so the focus will be more on how he will shoulder the film. This should be interesting.

'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' Is Sequel To 'Itlu Sravani...'

Puri Jagannadh came with one type of films from ‘Badri’ to ‘Sivamani’ and another type of films from ‘Idiot’ to ‘Golimaar’.
Now, he is arriving with ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ and doubts are emerging that this is like his earlier film ‘Itlu Sravani Subramaniam’. Since it is based on suicides, if you think we came to that conclusion then it is not so.

Even ‘Itlu Sravani Subramaniam’ deals with a girl and boy who decide to commit suicide but meet and fall in love. It is heard that the essence of this has been given slight changes here and there and the characterization of the hero has been given some aggression like ‘Pokiri’ by Puri.
Moreover, news is that the film which was due for release in January has reportedly not shaped up well. So, on the suggestions of Suresh Babu, it is heard that many scenes have been reshot. News is that except youth audience, there is nothing in the film which can appeal to the family audience.

Crores riding on Rana's back!

Crores riding on Rana's back!
Daggubati Rana has the sturdy job in hand to stand on par with the excellence of babai Venkatesh and father Suresh Babu. In coming two weeks, Rana has got crores of money riding on his back with two films 'Dum Maaro Dum' and 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' slated for release. He is on a double cross with these flicks as both stand on equal importance for his future career.

The Goa based 'Dum Maaro Dum' is to strike screens on 22nd of this month while 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' is on 29th. If earlier happens to be his Bollywood debut latter helps him to secure a position in Tollywood. The young actor is spending sleepless nights promoting the two and hardly is he left with any time? He is touring the North India these days to publicize 'Dum Maaro Dum'. Soon after its release, he will fly back to South to boost the advertisement with Ileana. Feeling the nervousness Rana says,"I'm having a lot of fun, but it's tough at times as I am required to be in two places all at once. These are nervous times for sure. But I don't mind it one bit". Let us see, how he gets out from these tough times?

Puri Jagan's 'Swami Droham'!!!

Puri Jagan's 'Swami Droham'!!!
We are not talking about Tollywood’s ace director Puri Jagan's guru in his directorial skills. Those who know Puri from a close angle might know the fact about whom Puri cares a lot. This sensational director created and dedicated a special song for that person in one of his flick too.

Michael Jackson, the King Of Pop is considered by Puri as his biggest Guru. Both, MJ's music and his life history are said to be a great inspiration for our stupendous film maker. The director came with a special song to commemorate the death of MJ in his 'Ek Niranjan'. Apparently, most of the tunes of the Puri's upcoming flick 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' resemble the masters created by Michael Jackson. Fans of MJ are furious over these copy-cat acts of music directors Rehman and Viswaa before going at large on Puri for obeying all this. Though the music directors are admitting that the chorus in songs is a direct lift from MJ's popular numbers, MJ Fans have stated that Puri is doing 'Swami Droham'. What's your say Puri?

Puri Jagannadh Is Missing

The last few weeks has seen that director Puri Jagannadh has been missing from the Tollywood soil. While that is one side, it is heard that even Puri is also missing something. Well, it is heard that he has been missing his family due to the shooting of his Bollywood debut project ‘Bbuddah’ which is happening in Mumbai.

That was seen during the audio release function of the film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’. Those who were present revealed how Puri spent a pleasant time with his entire family (wife, son and daughter) and relishing those moments. Those who don’t know gave rubbish gossips about the director sometime ago but after looking at Puri and his family in audio function, all those gossips became trash news.

Given his levels of involvement, Puri is known to immerse himself into any project he is working. As a result, he is right now in the ‘Bbuddah’ mode but at the same time, those who are with Puri reveal how he is missing his family and spending time with them.

Ileana's 'Double' Game With Rana!!!

The sexy starlet Ileana has always been adored for her hips and beautiful looks but now the time has come to have a different side of her. Sources reveal that Ileana is all set to show a two-face in her upcoming movie ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ wherein she is pairing up with Daggubati Rana.

Buzz is that Ileana would be seen in two roles which are completely opposite to each other in the film. Inside talk is that one will get to see the performer inside Ileana and the versatility she possesses. This is directed by Puri Jagannadh and the story is about a professional killer (Rana) and his lady love (Ileana).

The release date is set for April 29th and as much as Ileana’s admirers want to see the glamour side of her, this will be a new taste for them from this sexy hip beauty. Getting a double dose from her would be an added bonus for her fans.

Inside Talk: 'Mr Perfect', 'NNR' And '100% Love'

Inside talks are quite crucial for any film and it gets more significance when the film is of a big star and a big banner. Theoretically, the inside talk stands at 90% accuracy and so, many within the cine circuit and outside wait for it. Here is a look at three promising ventures in Tollywood.

Mr Perfect – Rumor has it that this is a recycled version of ‘Orange’, if that is true then the film is a goner. The bright side is, the audio is a hit and the number ‘Rao Gari Abbai…’ is a chartbuster, the presence of Prabhas, Kajal, Taapsee is another plus point. So, if it is any different from the rumor then it will have good chances at the box office.

Nenu Naa Rakshasi- This is coming up with an unusual flavor. Inside talk reveals that all characters in the film will have negative shades except one person. This is a film noir genre which has been adopted by director Puri Jagannadh and we have seen that happening in Hollywood, for eg: The Italian Job, The Heist etc are few examples. This is more of an experiment in Telugu circuit so let us see how this goes.

100% Love – Unfortunately, the inside talk has been negative and it is rumored that the cinema has not come that well. The audio is average as per overall listener response. After watching Naga Chaitanya in Ye Maya Chesave, he will be seen with that as benchmark which might become a minus. The plus is, it has Tamannah, good team of technicians but given director Sukumar’s complicated thought process, it remains to be seen how the audience will receive it.

Ileana Insults NTR And Rana!!!

Having worked with NTR in ‘Rakhi’ and ‘Shakti’ and pairing up with Rana for the first time in ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’, the latest discussion making rounds is that Ileana has insulted both of them terribly. That too, while taking part in the promotion event of ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’.

Apparently, Ileana was asked who her favorite hero is and she replied ‘Ravi Teja’. Not stopping at that, she added “He is my all time favorite hero”. By saying this, she has insulted all the heroes that she worked with. Ileana has paired up with Ravi Teja in the super flop film ‘Khatarnak’ followed by the super hit ‘Kick’. The only two heroes to repeat Ileana are Ravi Teja and NTR.

In that situation, by declaring Ravi Teja as her all-time favorite hero, Ileana has hurt the egos of all the other heroes. However, since she has lifted the spirits of Ravi Teja in the sky with this statement, the chances of her getting a third project with Ravi Teja looks sure.

Suicide Stampede annoys '100% Love'

Suicide Stampede annoys '100% Love'
Ultimately Sukumar-Naga Chaitanya's upcoming flick '100% Love' is the most talked creative caper of this summer film fest. However, rather than enjoying those sweet comments about the film, the makers are quite annoyed with the 'Suicide-Stampede'.

Another perfectionist in the Tinsel town, Puri Jagannadh is shaking Tollywood now, with the trailers of his upcoming flick 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'. The concept of 'Suicide', the presence of macho-man Rana as a serial killer and sexy hour-glass beauty Ileana as a 'failed lover' in NNR's promotional material are shocking the audience. As per trade sources, if NNR rocks the BO with its different concept, the collections of '100% Love' will also get affected. Though Sukumar's flicks look like 'Slow Poison', Puri films are mostly 'instant winners'. Puri has also the history of shaking Tollywood with his suicide oriented film 'Itlu Sravani Subbrahmanyam'. One has to wait till the release of these two flicks to find out the real winner!

'Nenu Na Rakshasi' Music Review: It's Ok!

Daggubati Rana is all set to arrive with his second film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ and this time he has teamed up with the sizzling hot Ileana and crazy director Puri Jagannadh. The audio release happened grandly and interestingly, this marks the debut of lyricists as the music directors. They are the duo of Vishwa and Rahman while Anoop Rubens has also contributed. Let us see how the songs are..

Melli Malli Merupula
This is an intense song and takes off on a charging note. The musical mix is balanced as it has a good proportion of electric guitar, drums. The music has been complemented very well with the energetic voice of Shankar Mahadevan. He has dominated the song with his high pitch and the pace of the song is quite consistent. Rahman has penned the lyrics and he has used simple words to express the intensity of finding a loved one.

Padithinammo
The track takes a total inspiration from Michael Jackson’s hit song and the difference is that the musical trio has kept the tone on a softer note with smooth beats. The regular instruments such as an electric guitar, drums are used but then they have instilled good pace and brought some nativity with their instruments. Vishwa has rendered his voice and he has also written the lyrics. This can be considered as a tribute to MJ in our own way. The idea of falling in love and the feeling has been expressed genuinely which is likeable.

Meenaachi
This is a raunchy mass number and one can see the flavor of the Tamil song ‘Lajjavati…’ and the music directors have created a melodious tune with folk instruments. They are not too loud but has a soft tone. The key appeal to this song is the vocals rendered by the trio of Geetha Madhuri, Vishwa, Rahul Nambiar and they have given high levels of energy and enough masala which will strike a chord with the masses. Vishwa penned the lyrics with some naughty lines and has given a poetic touch in this teasing number.

Papam PunyamThis is a mass number but has been arranged on a western beat. A very peppy song, the opening is interesting with guitar and the musical team has given a refreshing tune which is creative. This is a duet which has been rendered by the voices of Bhargavi Pillai and Hemachandra. Both have given proper adrenalin to the track and Rahman has given a cocktail of Hindi lines as well as rap lyrics. With a slight cowboy flavor, the song is very nice to listen to. This will click with the youngsters.

Padithinammo (Remix)
Just like the original track, even this song is almost similar except that the backdrop beats have been changed. The musical trio has added some rap lines to it and increased the base of the background beat. The drums and the remix elements are consistent and Vishwa has given an involved contribution to it. He is also the lyricist and this is a peppy song which will appeal to the youth audience.

Nenu Na Rakshasi (Theme)
This is a highlight track and which opens in a very impressive manner. There is a western beat to it and one can recall the title track of the Hollywood flick ‘The Hitman’ in a slight tinge. However, the musical team has added a good vocal and clubbed it with intense violin and synthesizing beats. Though the pace is slow, it has enough depth and works well as a background score. This can be used as a nice instrumental mobile caller tune.

Overall, the album has got variety in the tracks but not in the composition. Given the genre of the film, perhaps a romantic melody would have made the album complete. On the bright side, the musical team has attempted to get in some fresh feel but the focus was more on nativity and mass numbers and not on soothing tracks. This will work with the masses well and to those who love fast beat songs.

Lady Director became 'Draupadi'

Lady Director became 'Draupadi'One movie wonder Nandini Reddy is the 'butterfly' everywhere these days. After her successful stint with 'Ala Modalaindi' before signing a big project with Bellamkonda Suresh, the lady director has gone places.

The other day, Nandini was seen spending her lunch time at the table of five biggies of Tollywood. Family hero Venkatesh, Mass Raja Raviteja, action star Gopichand, ace director VV Vinayak and comedian turned producer Ganesh are her partners at the lunch. The onlookers went on commenting Nandini as Draupadi of those big-wigs. The joke was just cracked in a lighter vein though Nandini looks bigger in height and weight than all those guys. Rather than feeling uneasy with five men around, this 'Draupadi' unearthed her dare-bare voice to stand atop. All this happened at the audio release function of RaNa and Puri Jagan's 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'.

Is 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' Puri's life story?

Is 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' Puri's life story?
Off late, talented and compassionate director Puri Jagannath is rewriting the history he has created with all pessimistic sorts of thoughts. The statement 'Suicide is the permanent solution to a temporary problem' is giving scope for such negative thinking about Puri.

The question that Puri is advising to commit suicide triggers our mind immediately when we read that caption of his latest flick 'Nenu, Naa Rakshasi'. However, the trailers show that hero RaNa advises his lady companion Ileana not to commit suicide. Industry sources say that the story is some what inspired from the real incidents of Puri's life. Earlier there was news in Film Nagar that Puri's best friend and sexy item bomb Mumaith Khan tried to commit suicide and survived because of Puri's quick acts in taking her to hospital. Maybe, Puri might have promised something to keep Mumaith alive and that forms the crux of the story, is a strong rumor now. Only when the film gets released all this air will be cleared off.

Rana's finger - Puri's hand!!!

Rana's finger - Puri's hand!!!
Smart and successful heroes always does smart things to promote their just releasing projects, unlike our young kid. Rana, who is just one film year old in Telugu tinsel town, seems to be pressing the wrong buttons.

'Nenu Naa Rakshasi', the upcoming flick of Daggubati hero Rana under the direction of sensational commercial director Puri Jagannadh is gearing for a grand release on this summer. However, the promotional activities for the flick are comparatively low with other contenders, though the film was completed a month ago. It is heard that unnecessary fingering of Rana in the project from start to finish led to the anger of Puri, for which he left the promotion of the movie. Generally, Puri is an expert in promoting his flicks with exceptional marketing strategies for the hair-raising content he creates. Trade experts are saying that Puri's hand to project's promotion will affect film's business.

Anchor Suma's Hot 'S' in demand

Anchor Suma's Hot 'S' in demandWhile the old bandwagon of anchors like Udaya Bhanu, Jhansi and Shilpa Chakravarthy are nearing extinction with some limited shows, their companion is rocking. Being an yesteryear anchor, Suma never let the craze for her go down before creating huge demand for her 'S'.

The recent audio release functions of Pawan Kalyan's 'Teen Maar' and Jr NTR's 'Shakti' have witnessed the oratory skills of this aged anchor a lot. The demand for her 'speeches' has increased very high as she modulates her flattery language at ease, depending on the hero she is speaking about. The kind of poetic words she used to represent Jr NTR and the sort of simple yet wonderful dialogues she spoke for Pawan Kalyan are highly appreciated. It is heard that Suma is being roped in for the audio release function of Naga Chaitanya's '100% Love' and Rana's 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' too. However, keeping the demand for her 'speeches' in view, she has doubled her pay, as per Film Nagar sources.

Daggubati Rana 'Buttering' Film Reviewers

Daggubati Rana is a very active bird on the Twitter network and he keeps sharing his thoughts every now and then. However, there are times when he gives out messages with a purpose. For instance, one can recall a strong line he wrote about discipline and cine folks revealed that he was unhappy with a heroine’s behavior.

Now, Rana has come up with a new tweet which has caught the attention of a few. The tweet goes - “Just read a quote on the some denim store billboard "Smart Critiques, Stupid Creates" true in some way isn't it?? Hahaha :-))))”. Some feel there is an underlying message reading between the lines.

They say that Rana has given a nice line on critics and is praising them. One of them quipped “maybe Rana is buttering the film reviewers since his film ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ is arriving”. Well, the cine folks opine Rana is taking positive steps to be in good terms with the media. Let us see if this butter will have any effect or not.
