Sandalwood Spitting On Tollywood

Becoming a role model is one thing and becoming an example for a lesson is another thing. Right now, the state of Tollywood seems to be in the latter category. Well, the Telugu film industry which boasts of being the second largest after Bollywood and the number one to come up with maximum films has now become a laughing stock for other cine circuits.

Recently, few articles have begun to make rounds in the Kannada media houses. The Sandalwood folks are spitting on Tollywood for the quality of films being generated despite overflowing budgets and best infrastructure. Examples of movies like ‘Varudu’ ‘Komaram Puli’ ‘Shakti’ ‘Khaleja’ were taken to support their talk.

Now, the buzz is that seniors in Sandalwood are asking all their film fraternity members to have a look at Tollywood and learn a good lesson. One of the noted producers of Kannada cinema reportedly said “There is only quantity and no quality in Telugu cinema. It is all show and decoration on outside but everything is hollow inside.”

It is time Tollywood makes amends…

Sandalwood Bisibeli VS Tollywood Biryani

Yes, the headline might sound a bit controversial on table but we are talking about the nexus between the Tollywood and Sandalwood cine circuits. Apparently, there has been a lot of knowledge transfer happening in the form of remakes, dubbing films etc but here is another phase to it now.

It is being noticed that now the Kannada heroes are making their presence felt in the Tollywood circuit. Some of the top league names like Puneeth Rajkumar, Sudeep, Upendra are making trips to Tollywood on a regular basis. On the other hand, it is heard that Nisha Agarwal, sister of Kajal Agarwal is foraying to Sandalwood.

While heroines shuttling between two cine circuits are common but right now, even the heroes are also transferred. Of course, one can recall that even the megastar Chiranjeevi acted in the film ‘Manjunatha’ and won accolades for his performance. This is perhaps a different mix of menu but very interesting, say folks.
