Director Spending For Ads From Pocket

Every director desires to see the 100 days poster of his film. Ramesh Varma, who is a Publicity Designer much before becoming director, had thought to see 100 days poster of his latest film 'Veera'.

But the film didn’t get the initial talk due to several technical problems in narration. The film bagged huge negative talk and only then Ramesh Varma opened his eyes and chopped off 16 minutes in the movie in climax.
Either due to summer vacations or due to no new film release for about 3-4 weeks from its release, it got OK response with respect to collections especially in B, C areas.

But the sources say that Ramesh Varma has not got big support from producers once they listened to the bad talk on first few days of release. But since 'Veera' is the first big film with big hero for Ramesh Varma, he wants to project that as big as possible.
Hence sources say that he is investing for paper ads from his own pocket. The close sources of the director said that he is shelling out about 5-6 lakhs from his remuneration to promote his film till the 100th day.

Still Raviteja promotes Veera film

'Veera': Ventilator Removed- Out Of ICU

It was with great hype and hoopla that the film ‘Veera’ hit the screens and many expected Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja to repeat box office success. However, the film evoked lukewarm response and in no time was marked down by the critics and the audience. But now, a ray of hope has emerged.

It is heard that the film has been clipped by 16 minutes and the response is better. Overall, though the film got a negative talk in A centers, buzz is that B, C centres are giving good response. According to the distributors, they are saying thanks to summer along with the Ravi Teja following. Even the glamour quotient of Kajal and Taapsee has reportedly added some value.

A key distributor of the film revealed “In ceded areas, ‘Veera’ is a success as profits are flowing but Krishna and Guntur districts scored a flop. Naizam area is safe as investment has been recovered with some decent margin. East and Vizag areas have emerged safe.” Going by this, on the whole what was meant to be a utter dud has turned out to be better grosser.

Invisible NRI's Attract Young Directors

Invisible NRI's Attract Young Directors
Tollywood is presently in a state where producers are not at all visible to the press and public, while their managers spend lots of crores making flicks. Best examples are RR Movies Venkat and partly Sanvi Productions Ganesh Indukuri (Ride and Veera fame).

Apparently, these two producers are attracting young and aspiring directors with their lavish money spending skills for making movies. Despite of huge losses, these two guys are not at all backing off to produce 'bada' ventures. What makes an interesting note about these two is their script listening skills. Despite being in an remote and undisclosed location on the other side of globe,  an aspiring story teller can contact them through phone and narrate script for hours. However, the phone call will be made by their associates as they don't want to reveal their number even. A budding director under condition of anonymity stated that he has approached Ganesh Indukuri for a narration session via phone. Ganesh advised him to work as an associate for Raviteja's VEERA before getting an opportunity, the source added. Film Nagar buzz is that more and more young guys are getting attracted to these invisible producers.

'Veera' film to be banned

'Veera' film to be banned

Censor Board Members have been very stringent in implementing their rules and regulations on every Telugu film. Unfortunately producers and distributors of ‘veera’ have violated their rights while exhibiting the film in Odeon Theatre. As per media reports, distributor has desperately added the censor edited/cut scenes (mixed with violence and vulgarity) to the print that is being used in main Hyderabad theatre.

Censor board member Shobha says, ‘Interpolating the scenes that are already cut by board is illegal. Even producer has added those scenes which aren’t shown to us. We have seized the print and submitted it in the near by police station. Our board members will send concerned authorities to other theatres and see that film will be banned teaching a lesson to all producers and distributors not to dare on these kinds of illegal activities in future. Producer will be penalized as per the disciplinary committee action.’ It is to be remembered here that ‘veera’ is already censored twice before the release.

Ravi teja veera in trouble

The Andhra Pradesh Regional Censor Board, which awarded U/A certificates to Ravi Teja’s film Veera, has observed that the film’s copy which is being screened at theatres, is different from the one which was sent to the Board for censoring. Censor Board Chief Dhanalakshmi has reportedly decided to take action against the film makers for violating the rules.

Y. Sunitha Chowdhary, one of the Censor Board members, said she was ‘shocked’ when she watched the film after its release. “What was shown to us was completely different from what was finally released. Chopped heads flying across the screen, dismembered bodies being tossed around and headless torsos struggling to balance before they fall dead… none of the scenes you have mentioned were present in the copy we were shown.”

Meanwhile, director Ramesh Varma vehemently denied the allegations. “I released the same copy that was shown to the Censor Board. In fact even I was surprised that the Censor Board did not ask for many changes to be made. Initially, they even overlooked a cuss word. Only a few minor cuts were suggested and I have implemented all of those,” he said.

On hearing the director’s comments, a board official accused that the director is lying. “The director is a liar! He gave us a bad copy of the film with unclear audio. In fact, when I pointed out that the sound and some scenes are unclear, he specifically told me a day before the release that the final copy that will be released will be refined and clean. That just proves that he showed us a different copy!”

Brahmi son with Veera director

Comedian Brahmanandam son Goutham who has made his debut in telugu movie industry through Vareva movie which did not do good in the box office. Now Goutham has signed a movie with director Ramesh Varma.

Ramesh Varma is the director for Veera movie which was released recently in which Ravi Teja played the lead role. The movie was a disaster in the box office. Not this movie is the challenge for both Goutham and Ramesh Varma to prove themself.

He is a liar: Censor Board

He is a liar: Censor Board
Massraja Raviteja's recently released flick 'Veera' is back in news for all the wrong reasons. This commercial potboiler is filled with Blood and excessive Violence. Most of them who have seen the film has questioned, How did the Censor Board permit a U/A certificate?, instead of A(Adults Only).

After severe criticism, the Censor Board members have clarified that the Director had shown one copy to them during the Censor and released another one.

"The copy that was shown to us didn't have so many violent scenes. The director showed us one copy and released a different one," Sunitha Chowdary, Censor Board member.

However, Director Ramesh Varma had denied the allegations.

"I released the same copy that was shown to the Censor Board. In fact even I was surprised that the Censor Board did not ask for many changes to be made. Only a few minor cuts were suggested and I have implemented all of those," he said.

The Censor Board now accuses the director of lying.

"The director is a liar. He showed us a different copy. I'm shocked to hear of chopped heads and hands; none of the scenes you have mentioned were present in the copy we were shown," she says.

Regional Censor Board Chief, Dhanalakshmi, says that she would take legal action against the makers of the film.

"This is a big fraud, I'm planning to take action against this film," said Dhanalakshmi.

After the disastrous result of the film at the Box Office, this controversy is a hard blow to the makers of 'Veera'.

Can Tollywood Producers get Maturity???

Can Tollywood Producers get Maturity???
These are the days where no Telugu film is in the race to bag a National Award or making a place to any international film festivals. Even during this crisis, some of our producers have not stopped being false to the audience. Just for the sake of minting money, our guys acts are spoiling the overall impression on TFI at rocket speed.

Best example for this is recently released Ravi Teja's flick 'Veera'. Just after the first show, the film was rated poor and almost all the media started the post-mortem of it. As negative talks spreads faster, the fate of the film is sealed on the day of release itself as the movie lacks punch and content values.

However, an advertisement in today's newspaper states that 'Veera' has collected around 3 crores, 75 lakhs and 63 thousand Rupees share on day-one to create record and declared a hit. Forget the record it has created, can this film be declared a hit really. This is how Tollywood is working to make money without even thinking how outsiders think about our films. No doubt, Tollywood is a 'Mercedes Benz car', but on a jockey. Can we really move forward without our producers getting any maturity? Think a second guys!

Press Note: Ravi Teja Creates A Record!!

Not sure from where it came but the term Mass Maharaja fits hero Ravi Teja to the brim. Here is another example of why we say this. Apparently, the first day collection reports of Ravi Teja’s latest movie ‘Veera’ has arrived and our man has scored an all time record of his career.

Apparently, the film has reported a whopping Rs 90 lakhs in the Naizam area, Chittoor has recorded Rs 13 lakhs while Kadapa has also showed Rs 13 lakhs, Guntur has reported Rs 20 lakhs while Krishna district has given Rs 19 lakhs.

On the other hand, Nellore has recorded Rs 10 lakhs while East and West Godavari has recorded a Rs 13 lakhs collection respectively. As a result, all areas have reported all time record in Ravi Teja’s career in terms of first day collections.

'Veera' Review: Outdated Action -Weak Comedy

Rating: 2/5
Banner:
 Sanvi Productions
Cast: Ravi Teja, Kajal, Taapsee, Shyam, Roja, Nasser, Brahmanandam, Ali, Venu Madhav, Divya Vani, Krishnudu
Music: S S Thaman
Cinematography: Chota K Naidu
Dialogues: Paruchuri Brothers
Story, screenplay, direction: Ramesh Varma
Producer: Ganesh Indukuri
Release date: 20/05/2011

Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja is back after his successful ‘Mirapakaya’ and this time, he has teamed up with Ramesh Varma of ‘Ride’ fame. Let us see how this is

Story:
ACP Shyamsunder (Shyam) is a tough and honest cop who gets into a tussle with the local don (Rahul Dev).
The don threatens Shyam’s family and the police department arranges for the family’s security. In comes Veera (Ravi Teja) as the protector and he mixes with the family but Shyam’s wife (Sridevi) doesn’t like him.
Meanwhile, there is Aikey (Taapsee) who falls for Veera and tries to woo him with Tiger (Brahmi) trying to cause trouble. The story takes a turn when Shyam discovers that Veera is not the real security officer. Who is Veera? Why does he come to help Shyam and his family? What happens to Aikey’s love story? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
Ravi Teja has given an energetic and intense performance. He has done justice in all scenes and infused life into his character.
Kajal Agarwal looks alright. Unlike her previous films which give her a sensuous and classy look, she looks rather rustic in this one. She has increased the glamour dose.
Taapsee is a visual feast as usual and scores with her oomph factor. She must try and control her facial expressions as she ends up overdoing at times.
Shyam looks handsome and though his role is limited, he made his presence felt. He fits the bill like a cop and his body language is assertive.
Sridevi looks naturally sweet but she was unable to give contained expressions during emotional scenes, it looked superficial.
Pradeep Rawath was loud, Divya Vani was irritating, Brahmi’s comedy was childish, Venu Madhav was okay, Roja came and went, Nasser was natural. The others did their bit as required.

Highlights:
  • Cinematography
  • Glamour quotient of Kajal, Taapsee
  • Chitti Chitti song choreography
  • Chinnari Chinni Navvu, a bit song
Drawbacks
  • Outdated storyline
  • Heavy overdose of weak sentiment
  • Crass comedy
  • Pale Dialogues
  • Spineless narrative
  • Dragged second half
Analysis:
A film has to make people hysterical with the narration- be it comedy or tragedy or action. Only then the audiences connect to film forgetting the surroundings. When the audiences start looking into each others’ faces to share pain with dullness, that itself proves to be a debacle.
There is always a fine line between coming up with a good script and getting it the right way on the screen. As such, the theme of the film was appealing but the director failed to get it onscreen in a convincing manner. While the emotional situations lacked strength, the serious scenes reminded of few other movies.
Technically and production wise, the standard is not compromised but content and the way it was executed plays the spoilsport. Though the pace was maintained, there was not enough grip on the script to get the audience into the film.
Calling husband with the word ‘penimiti’ sounds odd and disgusting with its old flavor. Paruchuri Brothers lost power in their pen for sure. Ravi Teja appears weak with his pale love track with Kajal. On the other hand he comes as a elderly village men and fights with antagonists. The main crux of the movie should be dealt in second half but the director over loaded the theme with number of emotions and characters. Hence he failed to make it gripping. The scenes those were kept as suspense weren’t revealed interestingly and the suspense hold itself is not gripping. The comedy scenes between Ravi Teja and Brahmanandam also fail to bring adequate laughs.
Nothing is gripping in this movie except the 5 minutes before interval. And again the bumpy journey starts till the end.
Overall, this is a film which gives a stale taste of boredom even to the masses. At the box office, chances of success are highly unlikely.

Bottomline: Gives boredom and tiresomeness

Veera carrying negative reports!

Veera carrying negative reports!
Massraja Raviteja's 'Veera', which is all set to hit the screens on this Friday has been censored and the first report about the movie is out. This movie lacks the spice, says filmnagar sources. Director Ramesh Varma failed to present Raviteja either in a powerful or an entertaining way, told sources.

Every director who is working with Raviteja in the recent times is banking on his mass entertainer image and making run of the mill films. That formula is proving to be successful at the box office. But, Ramesh Varma('Ride' fame) tried to present Raviteja as a fulltime mass hero it seems. The mood of the film isn't Raviteja-ish, is the initial feedback given by the people who watched it.

Raviteja has been consistently doing well with mediocre films and we have to wait and see if he makes 'Veera' work at the box office against all the odds.

Veera movie live updates!!!

As we have mentioned yesterday in our Censor report Veera bares and uncanny resemblances with the past blockbusters like Samarasimha Reddy, Indra. Veera played by Ravi Teja joins as a bodyguard to protect a family and befriends and stars to love Tapsee. All of a sudden there is an attack on Veera. Who is the attacker and why did he target Veera is to be witnessed on screen.
Coming to the film Ravi Teja once again shows his command in emotions and massmannerism and plays his dual role superbly. This time however the heroines too join him in the fun and they too does well. The songs are shot very well in a very colorful and energetic way typical of a Ravi Teja film by now. Music and background score by S Thaman is a big plus for the movie. As there haven’t been any proper mass films for a long time, Veera is bound to satisfy the thirst of mass audience. With four open weeks ahead Veera looks certain to create a mark at box office.

Releasing Today: Ravi Teja's Veera

The summer heat is rising and so are the expectations on this new movie which is hitting the screens today. Yes folks, it is Friday time and it is film time. And the film we are talking about is ‘Veera’ and this has Ravi Teja in the lead.

He is flanked by Kajal Agarwal and Taapsee Pannu as the leading ladies and the film is directed by Ramesh Varma of ‘Ride’ fame. This is being produced by Ganesh Indukuri and it is heard that Ravi Teja would be seen in two entirely different characters in the film.

The songs composed by Thaman have already scored a success and inside talk is that this full fledged mass masala entertainer has shaped up very well. Let us wait to see if ‘Veera’ becomes the much awaited summer blockbuster or not.
