Tollywood Trade Talk: Mixed Fortunes

The time has come to have a look at what is happening at the box office. Well, two films were released last week and both of them are from different genres. One thing that stands out is the fact that there seems to be an attempt to change the storylines and the presentation of the film.

Firstly, we have ‘Gaganam’ and this had Nagarjuna in the lead as a commando. This was directed by Radha Mohan and produced by Dil Raju. The film is giving a feel good factor to the audience and more of such movies are required.

Then comes ‘Vasthadu Naa Raju’ which had Manchu Vishnu and Taapsee Pannu in the lead. This was directed by debutante Hemant Madhukar while Manchu Vishnu was the producer. The film has turned out to be a disappointment in terms of collections. The other film running is ‘Jai Bholo Telangana’ getting steady collections in the T-region.

This may sound unusual but then the new beauty Taapsee minced no words about her admiration towards veteran Mohan Babu. Taapsee also revealed that she loves acting beside Mohan Babu. Now the chances are that the wishes of this milky thigh beauty might materialize.

As such, Taapsee is the blue eyed girl for the Manchu family. So, after hearing her constant praises for Mohan Babu, some are saying probably it’s time to remake the Hindi film Cheeni Kum in Telugu. The original had a 60 plus Amitabh Bachchan falling in love with Tabu who is half his age and vice-versa.

Some are quipping that if the remake happens, it will be titled ‘Chakkera Takkuva’. So far, Taapsee has been giving a generous glamour feast of her oomph. Maybe this film might unravel the actress inside her. But the point is, will Mohan Babu want to do such unconventional project? who knows…it is hard to resist Taapsee….

Tapsee is going to hit the screens with the film ‘Vastadu Na Raju’ on 11th Feb. She earlier acted with Manoj Manchu in ‘Jummandi Nadam’ and now with Vishnu in ‘Vastadu Na Raju’. If she also acts with Mohan Babu, the circle will be completed at Mohan Babu’s family.
