Neelakanta's 'Virodhi' Lands In Controversy?

It is known news that the National Award winning director Neelakanta is emerging from his brief hiatus with his new movie ‘Virodhi’. However, the inside talk is that the content of the film has enough ammunition to cause commotion when it releases on July 1st.

Apparently, those who saw the rushes of the film revealed “The film deals with police, media and naxalism. Neelakanta is touching a very sensitive topic and this could lead to some controversies.” On the other hand, many in film nagar are waiting to see how he will strike a balance.

Few members said “Usually, Neelakanta has a balanced approach in his films. If he does it uniformly then okay but otherwise it will be trouble.” The film has Srikanth in the lead along with Kamalini Mukherjee as the leading lady. Let us wait and see how this one results at the box office.

Venkatesh launches 'Virodhi's music

Music of Srikanth's Virodhi, being directed by Neelakantha, was launched on Wednesday (June 15, 2011) at Prasad Lab Preview Theatre in Hyderabad. Venkatesh and Tarun along with top producer Dil Raju graced as the main guests.

Venky unveiled the audio albums formally. Venky said that he likes Srikanth as actor and person. "I have worked with him in many films. I also like the work of Neelakantha. He is very sensible director. The movie looks different and promising," he added.

The film has Kamlinee Mukherjee as the heroine and she came down to Hyderabad to attend the audio launch. R P Patnaik has scored the music for this movie. It is produced by Srikanth's brother Anil Meka.

Hero Srikanth's open attack on T-Agitators!

Family hero Srikanth created a reputation for himself among the Telugu viewers for his family dramas laced with superficial sentiments. Much to our anticipation, Srikanth always shows interest to be a part of 'masala' flicks. We mean, a mass kind of flick not anything else. Lately, award winning director Neelakanta ('Show' and 'Missamma' fame) is coming up with a flick titled 'Virodhi' with Naxalism backdrop that has Srikanth in the lead. As per reports, Srikanth is playing the role of a loyal journalist struggling between naked truths and crooked politicians. The story is said to be a satire on the ongoing T-agitation and how politicians are fueling the fire for their own benefits. Srikanth's character is supposed to be dealing with 'bada' names of T-movement and explores the involvement of Naxals in the agitation. Regular questions are, will T-supporters accept it or will they repeat some tank-bund kind of incidents again. However, the most important point to think here is, 'Will this film really releases?'

Is 'Virodhi' Inspiration Of 'Roja'??

The National Award winning director Neelakanta has come up with some thought provoking films in the form of ‘Show’ ‘Missamma’ etc. However, he was on a hiatus of sorts after his last movie ‘Mr Medhavi’ which didn’t click at the box office. Now, he is making a comeback after four years.

His new movie ‘Virodhi’ is currently in the making and already the leading lady Kamalini Mukherjee has been making some news due to her added heat and oomph. On the other hand, inside talk is that the film is based on the backdrop of Naxalism and it sounds to be loosely inspired from Mani Ratnam’s ‘Roja’.

Srikanth is the hero playing the role of a journalist and he is positive that the film would do well due to the strong screenplay and content. The shooting is progressing briskly and if Neelakanta can get the message across with his thoughtful movie then he is sure to bounce back with a bang, say cine analysts.

National award winning director Neelakantha is directing a film with Srikanth. He has put Srikanth in rather different genre with his current film titled Virodhi. First look of the film were released to the media. The poster designs are eye-catching and it looks quite different from the regular crop of current movies.

Srikanth is playing an intense role in the movie which is produced by his brother Anil. The film is slated for release in May.
