2011 has been average musical year. Except for SriRamaRajyam there was not a single film which was a big hit musically, there were some decent albums like Panjaa,Mirapakay,Oh My Friend though. Let us see what's in store for 2012.This year started with two Thaman musicals in Businessman and Bodyguard. Bodyguard seems to be moving in right direction to become a hit, as Businessman turns out an average fare. One thing common for these films is pretty ordinary music. Songs of Businessman are annoyingly loud with routine beats and overused tunes. Bodyguard may not be as worst as Businessman but it's yet another pathetic album except for two melody songs. Background music of these two movies is no better than songs.
Wondered by Thaman's recent track record, Behindreels has thrown some light on his background with music. It's very shocking to know that he worked for more than 200 films under almost all music directors in Tollywood. He worked majorly with Manisharma(80),Raj-Koti(60), Keeravani(30). It seems that irrespective of all this experience he doesn't know how to compose a decent album. Even though he worked under Melody kings like Manisharma, Keeravani, Thaman never composed a high class melody, not to mention his overused loud beats. One thing he seems to have learnt from these composers is how to copy songs from other languages.
The situation cannot get any better as all top heroes and producers have lined Thaman for their upcoming movies.He has recently signed an action film with NTR Jr. He is currently working on Ram Charan's untitled film for V V Vinayak, Venkatesh's Shadow, Siddharth's Love Failure and Naga Chaitanya's Gowravam. He is expected to sign more projects in coming days as Producers, who are ready to pay a item girl more than a music director,are running behind him because of his low remuneration.With more than half films to Thaman's name, Music lovers are in danger to face worst musical year in 2012.
