When celebs ran for a cause

Celebs and politicians got together on Sunday to run for a cause - to save the natural beauty of Rabindra Sarovar - a cause that saw about 5000 participants.
The run was organized by the West Bengal Government along with the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA) and the Kolkata Improvement Trust to spread awareness about the detrimental effect of pollution on the Rabindra Sarovar Lakes.
The Great Sarovar Run covered 10 kilometres, starting at the Rabindra Sarovar stadium, onwards to Tollygunge, Prince Anwar Shah Road, Dhakuria, Southern Avenue and Golpark. Said Vivek Bharadwaj, CEO of KMDA, "Rabindra Sarovar is the pride of Kolkata, but it has lost its charm to the urbanization of the city in the recent past. The Great Sarovar Run attempts to revive the beauty of the Sarobar. It is heartening to see so many people coming forward and lending a hand to the cause." We spotted celebs like Rituparna Sengupta, Rachna Banerjee and Nicole Faria at the run. Mayor Sovan Chatterjee and Bobby Hakim were also present at the do.
