KCR Defers T-Stir From Sankranti To Ugadi

The much-talked about “strategic silence” of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to be continuing for months together, for reasons best known only to him and his party leaders.
After the abrupt ending of Sakala Janula Samme in October 2011, KCR suddenly went into a shell and did not come out for several days.
In the first week of December, he, however, surfaced and declared that his party would create a “political tsunami” in the third week of January after Sankranti festival, if the UPA government did not take a favourable decision on the Telangana statehood issue.
It is more than 20 days since Sankranti festival passed, but there was not a word either from KCR or his associate Prof M Kodandaram, the chairman of Telangana political joint action committee. His party leaders, however, described it as a strategic silence and that KCR would spur the people into action at an appropriate time.
Now, all of a sudden, KCR came out with yet another announcement.
On Sunday, the TRS president declared that his party would intensify the agitation for separate Telangana after Ugadi in March.
Well, there is no clarity in the announcement as “after UgadI’ means it could be at any later date. Apparently, KCR has realized that the students are busy with studies as it is the examination season and the employees are not very keen to repeat the futile agitation of September/October.
