News in Brief Today







*   It is rumoured that Kiran Kumar Reddy may rethink about the persons selected as 8 Commissioners of Information. It is  said that a number of complaints have been received in New Delhi about the selection. That is why, it seems, even the relevant papers have not been sent to Governor for approval. 
*   The Executive Officer of TTD L.V. Subrahmanyam has categorically said that there were no mistakes committed by them in Tirumala Temple as alleged by Chinna Jeeyar Swamyji and through the TTD Trust they were toiling only for the welfare of pilgrims. 
*   Chidambaram, the Home Minister in the Central Cabinet has been given clean chit in the 2-G scam by the CBI Patiala court. However, Subramanya Swamy has indicated that he would go to High Court.
 * CM Kiran Kumar Reddy is still awaiting a green signal for his  proposals for full revamping of his Cabinet. He is said to have  had discussions with Azad for over 2 hours. He could meet Sonia for just 10 minutes. As the matter could not be finalised, he is staying in New Delhi for deliberations tomorrow also.
 * B. P. Acharya, the Accused No.1 in Emaar Case is discharged from Osmania Hospital today and was taken back to Chanchal Guda Jail.
 * The much perturbed IAS Officers over their colleagues getting arrested in various cases have convened their Association's General Body meeting in Hyderabad today. Over 100 Officers including Ramakanth Reddy are said to have attended the meeting. The details of their meeting are not yet known.
* In a related development, another senior IAS Officer Rathna Prabha was summoned by CBI for questioning in the matter of allotments of lands to some IT Companies in the State.
* B.V. Raghavulu has been elected unanimously for the 5th time as Secretary of Andhra Pradesh CPM State Unit. He has been holding the post from 1997. A 15-member State Executive Committee is also announced.
* The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced the stipends for the striking Junior Doctors in the state. They range from Rs. 20,700 to Rs. 25, 300/-, an increase of 15% on the stipends agreed upon in 2009. The JuDas have reportedly refused to accept the offer.
* The Lok Adalat has created a record today by solving 1350 cases in one single day today at Masulipatnam.
