SP Balu Doesn't Belong To Andhra Pradesh?

One of the most highly regarded and sought after names when it comes to singing is that of S P Balasubramaniam. Though he hails from an authentic Telugu Brahmin family, there is something about his birth which has given rise to a speculation of sorts.

Apparently, S P Balu was born in a place called Konetammapeta and in those days it was part of Madras presidency. So, in a way motherland is Tamil Nadu but he grew up in Nellore. With this, it is being reported that the Tamilians are speaking like they own SPB.

All Tamilians are saying he is their man though he is Telugu, father is Telugu.
Yesterday, one Tamil channel was giving a program on the eve of Balu’s birthday. It said “S P Balu avargal namma tamizh naattu Paadal Vellalar, Tamizh paadal kooda avar Telungu la perumai vaangirkaar. Adhu naala, avar Telungu makkal ki rombha vendiyavar.” (SP Balu is the singing icon of Tamilnadu, along with Tamil songs, he also rendered his voice in Telugu and that’s how the Telugu people know him).
So, that’s how Tamil people own him. Indeed, the above lines sound that they firmly believe that Balu doesn’t belong to AP. Can Telugus accept that?!
