Censor Board’s Real Face Exposed!!

The censor board is the highly regarded body in the film fraternity. However, it seems to have lost all its authenticity when it comes to the Tollywood circuit. Apparently, a group of producers feel the rules followed by the board members are outdated and this is causing them great losses.

While Prasanna Kumar, general secretary of the producers council has urged the I & B minister to remove the censor, others have suggested that members must be taken from film fraternity. Another producer Shankar has reportedly said that censor board objecting to mini skirts, lip locks is ridiculous. Even the big Suresh Babu has reportedly alleged that Hindi, Tamil movies are getting away with such things while Telugu films are suffering.

If this is one side, the other side is that the board members are corrupted. An allegation is that the board members demand bribe for better certification and sometimes, they take money from distributors to leak the inside information on the film. However, they are also bowing down to political pressures, as per sources. It is heard that films like ‘Parama Veera Chakra’ was allegedly reissued a new certificate owing to such pressure.

The general opinion is that big movie makers can handle things while smaller ones have to run from pillar to post.
