If rumours are to be believed, Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in the murder of dreaded Rayalaseema factionist Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Maddelacheruvu Suri, has either committed suicide or killed by his rivals.
According to reports reaching Hyderabad, the body of an unknown person was found floating in a pond adjacent to Tirupati airport at Renigunta on Wednesday afternoon.
The locals found resemblances between the body and that of Bhanu. The police are trying to establish the identity of the person, who might have committed suicide or might have been killed by somebody who dumped the body in the tank.
The Crime Investigation Department police in Hyderabad went on an alert and are enquiring about the identity of the person. They have not confirmed whether the body could be that of Bhanu.
Ever since Suri was murdered on January 3, 2011, Bhanu has been absconding. Though the police could arrest his accomplices, they could not trace Bhanu despite best efforts. There were suspicions recently that he might have fled to Nepal in the garb of a Sadhu.
