Roja Ramani Still Has A Youthful Voice!

Some voices defy ageing. Veteran singers like Latha Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle still sound young when they sing.
But for dubbing, one has to take more care to maintain the “youthfulness” in the voice, as it definitely undergoes a lot of change with the turn of years. Yet, there are certain dubbing artistes who maintain their voice perfectly even after turning over 50.
Take for example, yesteryears’ actress-turned-dubbing artiste Rojaramani. She still has the young voice and can give the present-day dubbing artistes like Savita Reddy a run for their money. So is the voice of another beauty of yesteryears Sarita. She, too, has her vocal cords intact and can lend her voice even to teenage girls.
At present, Savita Reddy is ruling the dubbing kingdom in Tollywood. She is the most sought-after voice for present-day heroines. She has a typical Hyderabadi urbanised accent and speaks Telugu like a college girl who has studied in English Medium right from nursery. As a result, the audiences turn nostalgic and are reminiscent of their next door gal, whenever they hear Savita Reddy crooning on screening either for Trisha or Samantha.
Recently, Roja Ramani is learnt to have commented that Savita Reddy’s voice is nasal. This could be true, but it’s enchanting too.
Rojaramani and Sarita may still sound sweet but they lack the lingo of teenagers. They should realise and come to terms with reality.
