Health minister D L Ravindra Reddy does not want to lose any opportunity to attack his arch rival in Kadapa district -- YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
On Saturday, DLR accused Jagan of instigating the striking junior doctors against the state government without understanding the background of the agitation.
“It looks like Jagan has not done his homework properly before extending his support to the junior doctors. He says the doctors deserve stipend as per the rules of the Medical Council of India (MCI). It is a ridiculous statement. The MCI does not talk about payment of stipend to the junior doctors. Its guidelines are only with regard to the number of seats available in the medical colleges and provision of infrastructure facilities,” the minister said.
DLR said the government would invite the junior doctors to talks only if they called off their agitation.
“The ball is in their court. We are quite open for negotiations. We have been regularly paying them stipend,” he said.
