Alliance With Naidu, A Historic Blunder!

The Left parties appears to be repenting for forging an alliance with Telugu Desam Party in the 2009 general elections, which they now feel proved too costly for them.
This was the crux of the report presented by Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary B V Raghavulu in the party’s executive committee meeting being held in Khammam.
According to Raghavulu, the best option for the Left parties would have been having an alliance with the Praja Rajyam Party floated by matinee idol Chiranjeevi.
“We have done a historic blunder in not having an alliance with the PRP, as Chiranjeevi had a lot of image in the public but was not in a position to cash in on the same. Had we joined hands with him, his party would have got more seats and so could have the Communist parties. This would have resulted in a coalition government in the state and we would be in a position to dictate the government,” he said.
In a way, Raghavulu is of the view that the people had no faith in TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and by joining hands with him, the people had rejected the Communist parties, too.
Well, the Communists are known for making historic blunders. And when caste equations work, no other logic works in forging alliances!
