Rashtriya Lok Manch president Amar Singh seems to be in a state of confusion on deciding the fate of his esteemed colleague Jayaprada, the glamour queen of yesteryears and presently Rampur MP from Uttar Pradesh.
While Jayaprada is strongly interested in returning to Andhra politics, Amar Singh wants her to be on his side in the national politics.
“She has given me a new life. But for her support, it would have been difficult for me to be in the political limelight at the national level,” Amar Singh told the media when he came to Hyderabad on Friday night.
Initially, Amar Singh wanted to field Jayaprada in the ongoing Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, but she has apparently refused to contest. It is not clear whether Amar Singh would allow her to come to the Andhra politics. “We are going to win 20-25 seats in the UP elections and play an important role in the government formation,” he said.
Interestingly, Amar Singh came in support of Telangana Rashtra Samithi in Andhra Pradesh. “It is the only party which is sincerely striving for the formation of separate Telangana. He will always have our support,” he said.
It may be mentioned that Jayaprada, too, recently came out with a statement in support of formation of smaller states. She welcomed the proposal of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to divide her state into four smaller states and said smaller states could be administered well and developed better.
