Anurag Basu is a busy man. Having donned the director’s mantle for Arundhati’s Hindiversion, he is busy scouting for an actress who can play the lead. The names doing the rounds range from Aishwarya, Asin, Vidya Balan to Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Paudokone. Few days ago we had reported that Kareena Kapoor had recently seen the Telugu version and she liked it so much that she had asked the writers to translate the script to English. But the director has apparently neither put a tick for nor a cross against any name yet. This being the case a few journos are speculating that Anushka herself might take this as an opportunity to launch herself into Bollywood. After all Anushka like many imports is not averse to a nation-wide audience. When contacted Anushka stated that if approached by Anurag Basu for the role she would not hesitate to give immediate dates. And why, not? Like she stated many a time, it was Arundhati that redefined her
career for the better.
