How Many First Files Jagan Would Sign?

One does not know whether YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP has any chance to become the Chief Minister of the state, but he has already started making promises to the people saying he would resolve any issue of the public concern on priority basis as soon as he becomes the Chief Minister.
On Friday, Jagan made a promise at Narsaraopet in Guntur that the first file he would sign immediately after coming to power in the next elections is to remove value-added tax on textiles so as to benefit the cloth merchants. He described it as atrocious the Kiran Kumar Reddy’s decision to impose five per cent VAT on textiles.
“It is going to be my first file to sign as soon as I take over as the Chief Minister,” he said.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Jagan made such a promise. When he took up the issue of fee reimbursement scheme for the backward class students, Jagan made a similar promise from his hunger strike camp in Hyderabad that the first file he would sign after becoming the chief minister would be that of clearing all the fee reimbursement arrears.
A few weeks earlier, he made a statement in Vijayawada that his top priority after becoming the chief minister would be increasing the input subsidy to farmers to Rs 10,000 per acre. Subsequently, Jagan made yet another promise, saying he would immediately cancel the controversial East Coast thermal power project if he becomes the Chief Minister. “The first file I sign will be the one withdrawing permission for the thermal project," he claimed.
It makes one wonder as to how many “first files” Jagan would sign, as there would only be one first file and all others would become second and third file and so on. Moreover, it is too early for Jagan to make such promises, there is still two years time to talk about coming to power.
