Hero-turned-character actor Suman is willing to play the role of departed Telangana ideologue Prof Kothapalli Jayashankar, if anybody makes a film on the Telangana movement.
Suman had visited the house of Prof Jayashankar in Warangal on Tuesday and paid rich tributes to the departed leader.
“Jayashankar had made immense contribution to the Telangana movement. If anybody makes a film on him, I am ready to play his role in it,” he said.
Suman had already expressed his solidarity with the movement for separate Telangana state by participating in the Hyderabad-Cooks-On-Roads programme organized by the Telangana Joint Action Committee at Hi-tech City along with Telangana Rashtra Samithi MP Vijayashanti. He declared then that he was supporting the Telangana agitaton, because the demand was genuine. The actor made an appeal to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to resolve the Telangana issue at the earliest.
“It has been pending for several decades. And the Centre’s dilly dallying has caused immense loss to the state: several projects have gone to other states. The real estate sector has collapsed completely. The state has plunged into unrest and chaos,” he pointed out.
