Megastar-turned-Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi has taken it easy the challenge thrown by senior actor Nandamuri Balakrishna that he was ready to contest against the former from Tirupati assembly constituency in the next assembly elections, if the party asks him to do so.
Chiranjeevi, who came to Tirupati as part of the constituency visit, laughed it off when the media persons asked him about Balaiah’s statement.
“What is wrong in his statement? In democracy, anybody can contest the elections from any constituency. It is ultimately for the people to decide whom they should elect,” he said.
One wonders why Chiranjeevi is not bothered too much about facing Balakrishna in the next assembly elections. The answer is simple: Chiranjeevi may not contest the next assembly elections at all from any constituency, leave alone from Tirupati, because he knows it is not easy to win the elections again. In any case, he is expecting that the Congress high command would reward him with Rajya Sabha membership and also the union cabinet post.
So, where is the need for Chiranjeevi contest the assembly elections; and, the question of facing Balakrishna in the elections does not arise at all!
