There are those who believe cinema is an art and those who believe that cinema is about passion. But here are two who believe that cinema is business and mince no words about expressing it openly. They are the duo of Ram Gopal Varma and Bollywood producer Ekta Kapoor.
Now, in 2011, three movies were made by Ekta and sex was the basic ingredient for her. As for RGV, he came up with ‘Not A Love Story’ ‘KSD Appalaraju’ ‘Dongala Mutha’. Both used media to the fullest and got free publicity. RGV scored good openings with his films but they dropped due to weak content in films.
Ekta came up with ‘LSD’ ‘Raagini MMS’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’. All the three are big hits. That way, the businessman (RGV) brought openings and stopped but the businesswoman (Ekta) brought openings and successful collections as well. Ultimately, it is proved that content matters and not just hype.
