Dr Harinath Policherla, a successful cardiologist in USA has shown his acting talent (!) in the film ‘Chandrahaas’ a few years back. Even now the clips of that film make rounds on youtube for the amateurish performance of him. He is being tagged as ‘Uncle Star’ by many as he became hero at an uncle’s age.
Now the fans and well wishers of Harinath Policherla are angry. Their anger is with media for spreading negative news and satirical lines on their star’s performance.
A well wisher said, “Every artiste will have a passion. His art can be relished by people or not, he will find happiness in quenching it. What’s the harm he is doing to society? He is giving livelihood for many technicians and artistes when he is making a film. Media may like him or not, it is better not to keep him in bad light. Let him do what he feels” .
And a media person answered saying, “We are not harassing him or keeping him in bad light. We just ask him to upgrade himself so that people like him to watch. When that happens, he can earn profits with which he can make more films giving livelihood for many more. Artistes shouldn’t be too emotional but sportive”.
