Top Failure Reviews Of Websites @ 2011 And More..

Whenever a film flops, the first thing the directors and producers do is crying on media. They tend to pass the buck stating that the websites killed their films with negative reviews. But there are some incidents those give answers to them.
This year three films were recognized as ‘must watch’ films by entire web media unanimously. They were Teenmaar, Sri Rama Rajyam and Rajanna. Almost every web portal and also the TV media in general projected these films are the best ones in ‘shouldn’t be missed’ category. But the fate is upside down. Teenmaar slept soon, Sri Rama Rajyam could only get patronage from old people in weekends. Rajanna had no openings at all. This is not the first time that happened. Even in previous years, the film Don of Nagarjuna got unanimous negative reviews. But the film turned super success. Balakrishna’s Simha got unanimous poor to average reviews. But that became a block buster of 2010. Andari Bandhuvaya and Prasthanam got unanimous positive reviews for their content in 2010. But they have bitten mud commercially.
This shows that media cannot be blamed for the success or failure of any film. No film can be stopped from making fortunes if the public decide to patronage. And no media house can give Viagra to public to bring them to theatres when they decide to sit at home.
Media’s influence on public with respect to cinema promotion can be calculated here.
Indeed, this applies mainly for big films and films with notable faces. The fate of small films depends on web reviews to a large extent. If the websites keep away from writing a review of any small movie with new faces, people never know that the film is released. And bad reviews for sure keep audience away from theatres for such films. And good reviews may bring audience to theaters to some extent. It is only the trend setting element or non stop entertainment that saves a small film. The best example can be ‘Happy Days’ that released a few years ago.
It is only the pre release hype that helps a film in bringing openings. And openings are the main source of income that is in the hands of makers. When they are failures in making good film but successful in bringing strong pre release hype, at least they can bring thumping openings. The end result will be decided by public. The best example for this can be 2011 release ‘Bezawada’. The film got worst reviews unanimously but got 100% openings every where. But the truth had to be faced by makers from the next day.
After reading this, let us decide who should be blamed? The websites for giving negative reviews OR the makers for not making good product OR the public for not patronizing a good product!!
The answer is ‘none’.
Let the directors make whatever they feel. Let the critics write whatever they feel. Let the people patronize whatever they like. Let the creativity be in progress!!!
