The way the Central Bureau of Investigation is targeting IAS officers and arresting some of them in connection with various scandals has become a national issue in the last couple of days, as the officials have gone up in arms against the government as well as the investigation agency.
However, Lok Satta Party president Dr Jayaprakash Narayan, who himself was an IAS officer till a few years ago, says there is no need for the IAS officers to worry too much about the CBI inquiry or arrests, if at all they are really not corrupt.
“The arrests are part of the CBI investigation to unearth the scams which had looted the public money,” he said.
He pointed out that the arrests could also be a part of the strategy to catch the real politicians who had the real culprits.
“In my view, the CBI is trying to bring out the real people behind the scams by arresting the IAS officers and make them reveal the brains behind the scam. If the IAS officer has not made by mistake, he would automatically come out of the case,” he said.
