Shahrukh Khan Imitates Allu Arjun (!)

Indian cinema taking inspiration from Hollywood is very common. Most of the times, the stories, the characterisations and the appearance of the heroes is done. But this time, it appears that our Tollywood man seems to have become an inspiration for a big gun in Bollywood.

We are talking about the duo of Allu Arjun and Shahrukh Khan respectively. Apparently, this is the reaction many got after watching the film ‘Don 2’. During the introduction scenes and first twenty minutes, SRK is seen sporting a pony tail and stubble with a moustache.

The comments heard in the theatres are “Looks like Shahrukh has taken inspiration from Bunny in ‘Badrinath’. The hairstyle, that ponytail reminds of Bunny’s style.” As long as SRK imitates only ‘Badrinath’ style from Bunny it is okay. Let us hope the fate of ‘Don 2’ doesn’t become like ‘Badrinath’.

Rana Crawled To Rs 3 Cr League With LHG

Among the generation of young heroes, the graph of Daggubati Rana has been strong. Though he has not scored a concrete success, he made his presence felt expansively. He is already one film old in Bollywood and is on the verge of completing another one. Soon, he will open his account in Kollywood too.

The analysts say “Rana charges Rs 3 crores as remuneration and this is actually a very good start considering his success at box office. The key factor this is the Looks, Hype and Gossips that Rana is surrounded which has created a profile for him. But then that alone is not enough for a long term survival.”

They add “What Rana must work on is performance. He needs to unveil the actor in him and score more on performance front than the LHG factor. Some said he was not good in ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ but no, he gave a sincere effort. Now that he has fallen in the hands of Ram Gopal Varma for ‘Department’, it should have brushed his skills. Let us see what happens.”

'Orange' Girl Misses Family X-Mas Dinner

Actress Shazahn Padamsee is sad to miss her annual Christmas dinner with her family due to work commitments.
"Missed most of my dad's Christmas party and my family Christmas dinner tonight because of work! Have never been away from them on Christmas. Feel like hell," Padamsee wrote on Twitter.
Shazahn, who made her debut in Tollywood with the Ram Charan Teja starrer "Orange", is the daughter of ad guru Alyque Padamsee.

Top Failure Reviews Of Websites @ 2011 And More..

Whenever a film flops, the first thing the directors and producers do is crying on media. They tend to pass the buck stating that the websites killed their films with negative reviews. But there are some incidents those give answers to them.
This year three films were recognized as ‘must watch’ films by entire web media unanimously. They were Teenmaar, Sri Rama Rajyam and Rajanna. Almost every web portal and also the TV media in general projected these films are the best ones in ‘shouldn’t be missed’ category. But the fate is upside down. Teenmaar slept soon, Sri Rama Rajyam could only get patronage from old people in weekends. Rajanna had no openings at all. This is not the first time that happened. Even in previous years, the film Don of Nagarjuna got unanimous negative reviews. But the film turned super success. Balakrishna’s Simha got unanimous poor to average reviews. But that became a block buster of 2010. Andari Bandhuvaya and Prasthanam got unanimous positive reviews for their content in 2010. But they have bitten mud commercially.
This shows that media cannot be blamed for the success or failure of any film. No film can be stopped from making fortunes if the public decide to patronage. And no media house can give Viagra to public to bring them to theatres when they decide to sit at home.
Media’s influence on public with respect to cinema promotion can be calculated here.
Indeed, this applies mainly for big films and films with notable faces. The fate of small films depends on web reviews to a large extent. If the websites keep away from writing a review of any small movie with new faces, people never know that the film is released. And bad reviews for sure keep audience away from theatres for such films. And good reviews may bring audience to theaters to some extent. It is only the trend setting element or non stop entertainment that saves a small film. The best example can be ‘Happy Days’ that released a few years ago.
It is only the pre release hype that helps a film in bringing openings. And openings are the main source of income that is in the hands of makers. When they are failures in making good film but successful in bringing strong pre release hype, at least they can bring thumping openings. The end result will be decided by public. The best example for this can be 2011 release ‘Bezawada’. The film got worst reviews unanimously but got 100% openings every where. But the truth had to be faced by makers from the next day.
After reading this, let us decide who should be blamed? The websites for giving negative reviews OR the makers for not making good product OR the public for not patronizing a good product!!
The answer is ‘none’.
Let the directors make whatever they feel. Let the critics write whatever they feel. Let the people patronize whatever they like. Let the creativity be in progress!!!

Nayantara As Mandodhari: News Or Gossip?

Nayantara won several accolades for portraying the role of Seeta in Sree Rama Rajyam beside Balakrishna. This is said to be her last film as she is getting married to Prabhu Deva in the month of January.
But a few Kollywood gossip sources said that Nayantara changed her decision and is doing another film with the consent of Prabhudeva. And that is RGV Ramayanam, but portraying the role of Mandodhari the wife of Ravana. ‘As Ravana is being played by Nagarjuna, it took not big deal for RGV to convince Nayantara’, the gossip says.

But highly reliable sources working in the team of RGV Ramayanam confirm that this is just a gossip and no such trials were made at all by anyone to cast Nayantara as Mandodhari.

So curtains down for this new gossip on Nayanatara.

Critics' Verdict: Don 2 gets mixed reports

Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 has witty, zany and cooler dialogues, great action sequences, sleek & stylish package, but lacks a tight script. SRK who's back in a negative avatar with the film has done full justice to his role. Here's what critics are saying about the movie:
Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama (Rating: ***1/2):
When viewed in isolation, Don 2 looks like the right package to woo the movie-going junta -- SRK in top form, a stylishly crafted story, pulsating and invigorating action and stunts. But it's not without its share of hiccups. In fact, the first hour and the post-interval portions of the film are akin to the two sides of the same coin. The first hour is bland, the second is energetic. The first hour is deficient in thrills, the second keeps you on the edge. The first hour disentangles at a languid pace, the second is feverish with several adrenaline rush moments.
Farhan Akhtar has narrated the story with aplomb, but the script needed to be crisper. "With Don 2, Farhan Akhtar reasserts himself as one of Hindi cinema's stylish storytellers. It wouldn't be erroneous to state that Don 2 redefines slick in Bollywood. But the film could've done with a tighter script. Besides, the writing is urban-centric and those with an appetite for international thrillers may take to the film instantly, especially the twists and turns in the second hour. Again, the conclusion to the story could've been simplified for the average viewer to decipher. Yet, all said and done, Don 2 mirrors the changing trends in Hindi cinema. Those with the conventional attitude or tilting towards the conservative form of cinema may find it difficult to absorb," says Adarsh.
David Dewitt, New York Times:
The director, Farhan Akhtar, seems out to create a spectacular, international entertainment with “Don 2,” in a mix of Hindi and English and a dollop of German. And thanks to the unpretentious humor, he is mostly successful, though audiences will have to forgive the bland performances. Not the actors’ fault, really; when a cocky chuckle (Mr. Khan) or determined lips (Ms. Chopra) are your only character bits, you don’t have much character to explore. Only Kunal Kapoor, as a more sympathetic colleague of Don’s, has human moments. They’re almost out of place; subtlety is one language this playful film doesn’t speak.
Nikhat Kazmi, The Times Of India (Rating: ****):
The high point of the film is Shah Rukh's delineation of the character of the Don. The actor interprets him as an arrogant, agile, wicked and wild dare-devil who has the most bizarre schemes up his sleeves. But that's not all. He also has the chutzpah to carry them through.
"Action is the other alluring selling point of Farhan Akhtar's film. The chases, the fights, the demolition, destruction, break-ins, escapes have all been done with a finesse that rivals the best of Hollywood. Watch the car chase between Priyanka and Shah Rukh and you'll get the point. It's not only high voltage that drips with passion which makes it seem almost like foreplay. The other notable sequences include the heist, the escape and Shah Rukh's larger-than-life leap from a high-rise while his assassin wrings his hands in dismay," says Kazmi.
Aniruddha Guha, DNA (Rating: ***):
Like Danny Ocean. And John McClane. In Don 2, Akhtar manages to blend elements from various H’wood films, mostly Ocean’s Eleven and Die Hard, with a bit of Mission Impossible thrown in. This is our answer to Hollywood - a rehash of what they’ve done already. No points for originality. No points for writing either. If Akhtar’s film lulls you to sleep initially, in spite of some slick editing, it’s because the writing (Akhtar, Ameet Mehta, Amrish Shah) falters. Characters say boring, random things to each other, there’s a pointlessly long dance sequence (Hrithik Roshan, looking dapper in an unintentionally hilarious cameo), and the attempt at dialoguebaazi is laughable (“Jab tak Don ko asliyat ka pata chalega, tab tak Don mar chuka hoga”).
Komal Nahta, Koimoi.com (Rating: ***1/2):
Farhan Akhtar, Ameet Mehta and Ambrish Shah’s story and screenplay are basically about plotting and planning, which keep the audience’s interest alive. The first half, however, moves at a leisurely pace and takes a while to come to the point. It is after interval that the pace picks up but even in the post-interval part, the initial reels are too technical and get confusing for the average viewer. But the last few reels are very engrossing and the revelation of the suspense (like in the first part, Don) is the highlight. Intrigue, suspense, style and drama – the four highlights of Don – are in evidence in the sequel too.
Daily Bhaskar.com (Rating: ***):
Shah Rukh Khan compels one to leave the bitter memories of Ra. One behind and experience an exhilarating ride with Don 2. Hollywood style crisp action sequences and different avatars of SRK, prisoner and eventually ultra-classy Don keep the spectator busy. The story picks up pace in the post interval portions with tremendous suspense value related to Kunal Kapoor. The vulnerable love sequence between SRK and Priyanka also commands for appreciation in terms how it brings the necessary twist in the story which can be called the forte of Farhan Akhtar as a story-writer.
Rituparna Chatterjee, IBNLive, Tweet Review:
The action is great, esp an exciting jailbreak. #Don2 promotions have been low key. The investment in action has paid off.
"Not gold, cash or secret documents. This time the eye is on Euro printing plates. #Don2 sets the pace for future heist movies."
"In many ways this is @iamsrk's film. He has a quiry sense of humour. Even behind bars he never fails to flirt with @priyankachopra."
"The storyline is not new, but the surprising change of heart is. Impalusible perhaps? But who knows what goes on in the mind of Don? #Don2"
"The @iamsrk fans will love him in this one. That much is for sure. #TweetReview #Don2"
Rediff (Rating: **1/2):
And then how can one forget when Khan strikes the ultimate pose -- the camera captures him at an angle, as he slightly tilts his back, with his arms open sideways. It is King Khan's signature attempt to remind us that he is the master of the universe.  At least his fans believe that.
Direction
"Farhan Akhtar yet again shows his brilliance as a director. Barring few loopholes which can be neglected like Vardhan (Boman) despite in the hitlist of police gets an easy entry into the bank is highly indigestible, Don 2 impresses at various stages. The theft sequence is amazing shot with no room for technical goof-ups especially the way SRK escapes the inside chamber with plates in his bag," according to Daily Bhaskar.com.
Performances
Shah Rukh Khan: "Don 2 marks SRK's return to anti-hero roles after enacting such roles with flourish so early in his career. Recall BAAZIGAR, DARR and ANJAAM. He plays a wicked, debonair anti-hero in Don 2. The character he portrays is iniquitous and sinful, but attractive at the same time and SRK lives it up with gusto. Besides, SRK has also experimented with varied looks in the film, from a debonair looking guy to a person with unkempt hair and stubble. Without doubt, DON 2 is SRK's best action movie to date," says Adarsh.
Priyanka Chopra:
"Priyanka revisits her character of Roma in DON 2. Not only is the character more evolved, even her performance is of a high order. In fact, she enacts the role of an angry, tough lady who means business with a vengeance. Lara Dutta looks glamorous and alluring, but her character lacks meat," says Adarsh.
Kunal Kapoor:
"He is decent, though he doesn't really get the scenes to prove his credentials. An actor of the caliber of Om Puri is wasted this time. Boman Irani lends the right texture to his character. He excels yet again. Nawab Shah should hit big league with DON 2. He plays one of the baddies with conviction. Alyy Khan is natural, enacting his part with ease. Sahil Shroff has screen presence and stands out in a brief role. Hrithik Roshan appears in a cameo", feels Adarsh.
Weak points"The film does lack a bit on the emotional quotient and human relationships are hardly given a chance to grow. But just when you think it's all sound and fury, there's a sensuous tango between Roma and the Don as the cop opts to help the gangster she once loved and the gangster is determined to save his junglee billi (wild cat), any which way. A word about the dialogues: brilliant. A word about the music: mediocre (Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy)," points out Kazmi.
"The situations are alarmingly unimaginative. Sample this: Don-ny Ocean (SRK) plans to get out of a high security prison by mixing the food given to prisoners with a liquid that results in mass food poisoning. Johar Mehmood In Hong Kong had a similar sequence where prisoners in a jail are given julab (laxative) on the sly, helping them flee. That was a farcical comedy. Here, it seems like a cop-out," says Guha.
"On the minus side, all that Don and his team do seems so easy that it appears rather unbelievable at times. Besides the confusing portion of the drama, this is another drawback of the script. Farhan Akhtar’s dialogues could’ve packed in more punch and power as they, at places, seem quite tame, especially those mouthed by Don, given that he is so powerful. But his dialogue about his mother being happy if she were alive and about and his dialogue about ‘Sir’ not going well with his personality are brilliant. Light moments are few and far between and had there been more of them, the appeal of the film would’ve been bigger," says Nahta.
Conclusion
"On the whole, Don 2 rides on star power and brand value. The film has a bland first hour, but the second half takes the film to another level. There's no denying that a cohesive script would've made a world of a difference to the film, but the tremendous hype, star power and the lucrative period [Christmas and New Year celebrations] will make its investors reap a harvest," concludes Adarsh.
"On the whole, Don 2 may not give the discerning audience a great high but it will be loved by those who like style, intrigue, suspense and attitude. It will score at the box-office and yield good profits to Reliance Entertainment (worldwide distributors). The producers, of course, have already made a huge profit by selling the worldwide rights and also by getting heavy subsidy from the German government. Business in big cities and multiplexes will be far better than in smaller towns and single-screen cinemas. The film will work wonders in the Overseas circuit," says Nahta. (Agencies)

'Uncle Star' Rajendra's Fans Are Angry

Dr Harinath Policherla, a successful cardiologist in USA has shown his acting talent (!) in the film ‘Chandrahaas’ a few years back. Even now the clips of that film make rounds on youtube for the amateurish performance of him. He is being tagged as ‘Uncle Star’ by many as he became hero at an uncle’s age.
Now the fans and well wishers of Harinath Policherla are angry. Their anger is with media for spreading negative news and satirical lines on their star’s performance.
A well wisher said, “Every artiste will have a passion. His art can be relished by people or not, he will find happiness in quenching it. What’s the harm he is doing to society? He is giving livelihood for many technicians and artistes when he is making a film. Media may like him or not, it is better not to keep him in bad light. Let him do what he feels” .
And a media person answered saying, “We are not harassing him or keeping him in bad light. We just ask him to upgrade himself so that people like him to watch. When that happens, he can earn profits with which he can make more films giving livelihood for many more. Artistes shouldn’t be too emotional but sportive”.

Photo Feature: 'Lava'nia, A Sexy Hot Volcano

This is the picture that looted the heart of Pawan Kalyan. He brought her into the project ‘Panjaa’. She is Anjali Lavania who set screen to fire with her item song. In fact there are men who are watching this film just for that song. She has ‘Lava’ in her name and that is enough to say how hot she is.

Thaman Shocks Like Mahesh Babu @ 'Sir Ostaara'!!

One of the most sought after names in the Tollywood music industry is Thaman. He has been scoring tunes in nearly 80% of the big league projects. And currently, he is riding high with the huge response to his latest tunes for ‘Businessman’. Not stopping at that, Thaman has given another shocker.
Apparently, one of the chartbuster songs in the film is ‘Sir Ostaara…’ and at first, many thought the male voice has been rendered by Mahesh Babu himself since the grapevine was on about him singing in the film. However, the real voice for the number was Thaman along with Suchitra.
Those who heard the song are shocked as to how Thaman could sing in almost Mahesh Babu’s voice. His efforts to sound close to Mahesh were commendable. Some of them say “This used to be a trait of S P Balu who could modulate his voice to suit the style of Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna and others. Now, Thaman seems to be displaying another talent in him by doing this.”

Photo Feature: Big B With Pet Dog

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan must have posed for thousands of photoshoots. But this, with his pet dog Shanouk, was unique!

"Did photoshoot with Shanouk, my Piranha Dane for cover of a magazine on dogs by the ebullient Farzana Contractor, wife of BusyBee (Behram Contractor)!!" Amitabh posted on his Twitter page.

The 69-year-old, who loves spending time with his dog, even posted one picture out of the photoshoot, and wrote: "That picture is of Shanouk, my Piranha Dane...Shanouk - a warm gentle breeze on a cold winter morning..."

Recently, Big B had shared his thoughts on how his dog had been feeling ignored ever since Abhishek and Aishwarya had a baby. But one can guess, the special photoshoot must have taken care of the pet's feelings. (IANS)

'Breast Scene' In 'Rajanna' Shocking Crowds

Though the entertainment industry is getting flooded with lip lock sequences and bikini feasts, that dose of glamour is yet to touch the Tollywood circuit in a big way. However, the latest release ‘Rajanna’ came up with a scene which has given goosebumps to the audience.
This is the scene where few women are lined up and are made to stand without anything on top. A man gropes around the chest area of each woman and basing on the weight of each woman in that area, the tax is decided. Though the scene didn’t have any indecent exposure, the very feel and conviction of it chilled the audience.
Those who saw the film said “It was really the most shocking scene in the film. Though it was done in an aesthetic manner, the experience makes us shudder. It was powerful. The makers must be appreciated for bringing out such a strong reaction from us and gave us a realistic picture of how life was during the days of the Razakars.”

Mahesh Babu's Seniors In School Reveal Secrets

Mahesh Babu is the prince of Tollywood and is almost a demigod to the youth and masses. However, there was a time when he was a regular kid on the block. This was during his student days and recently, some of his seniors got to share some interesting secrets about Mahesh.

“Mahesh was our junior in St. Bedes Higher Secondary, Chennai. At that point, we knew that he was the son of a Telugu hero. But since we were seniors though he tried to make friends with us and was approaching us, we took him a bit light. Even those days, Mahesh used to speak less but he used to make sense when he talks.”
They added “We used to eye girls from our neighbouring school Rosary Convent but Mahesh used to come, attend school, go back. Of course, his attempts at being friends with us didn’t stop. Those days, we thought ‘what this fellow simply chasing us’ and today we regret not being friends with him. We don’t even know if Mahesh will recognise us if he sees us but we are happy for his success.”

Photo Feature: Shocking Wardrobe Malfunction

She is Isha Chawla, the heroine who set screen to fire with the film ‘Prema Kavali’ last year. She paired up with Sai Kumar’s son Aadhi in that film and attended the birthday function of him that was held just yesterday. Cameras flashed on her and off late many discovered a shocking wardrobe malfunction. The culture has come from Hollywood to Bollywood and now it has started spreading even in Tollywood. Isha Chawla thus falls in the category of Shamitha Shetty, Yana Gupta and many those shocked with similar wardrobe malfunction!!

NTR For 2nd Liposuction Surgery

One of the most charismatic and energetic stars among the new age heroes is Junior NTR. There is no exaggeration when he is called the young tiger. However, it appears that the tiger seems to have lost his sprint and has been busy putting on weight which has become a concern for many of his fans.

The talk among the NTR camp is “He looked super smart and sexy during ‘Brindaavanam’ and picked up little weight during ‘Shakti’. We thought the role demanded it but now it looks like this is not about the role. Already, he has a small height and if he puts on additional pounds, he would look much short.”

They add “Maybe it is better he goes for a second round of Liposuction surgery. Or he should get into some real fitness regime and get back to a trim shape. Of course, we loved his look in films like ‘Simhadri’ but our hero should also stand as an example for perfect fitness and tough body. That will be a strong inspiration to us.”

Uday Kiran Should Learn From Tarun

The toughest time for any actor in the film industry is when he has risen to the top at one point and is jobless in no time. Because once that happens, he can neither get back to regular life nor can he sit around waiting for something to happen. That seems to be the case with Uday Kiran and his film career.

The young hero has not been able to bag an offer in the recent past. However, many say he should learn from Tarun. They say “As such, there are no films for Tarun so he joined Celebrity Cricket League. Now he is getting Rs 1 crore per year. This tournament is fetching each cricketer anywhere between Rs 1 cr to Rs 1.2 cr.”

They add “Atleast if Uday focuses on the game then he could have done better. It is not that he has to be a star player. No one is. But atleast if he could swing the bat properly and maintain some fielding skills, that should be good enough. Since both Tarun and Uday are contemporaries, maybe they should get into some serious talk about this.”

'Krish'nam Vande Jagadgurum: A 2012 Milestone?

Tollywood is one place where one doesn’t get to see much of cult movie makers or intellectual film thinkers. But there are always exceptions. One such exception is Krish. Though his commercial success is not great, Krish made his presence felt with just two movies.

Now, he is all set to take off with his new venture and sources say this will be a milestone for Tollywood in 2012. We are talking about ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ and this has Daggubati Rana in the lead. Buzz is that Krish is taking a completely different route this time and even Rana would be seen in a different avatar.

As for the title, few cine folks say “He got his name in the title at front that’s why Krish likes it. This is more like branding himself up.” Whether that is true or not, the title is definitely catchy and the grapevine about content of the film is also equally appealing. If it sets a milestone then even better.

Story, screenplay, direction: Vijayendra Prasad
Release date: Dec 22, 2011
Rajanna is the film that hit the screen when the expectations of people were set on reasonable levels. The main reason for the expectations are that Rajamouli is behind its action episodes. And even musically the film scored good points.
Story:
The movie is set on 1948 Nelakondapalli village in Adilabad district. Lakshmamma (Sneha) is the mother of an infant girl child Mallamma (Baby Annie) who leaves her into a river like Kunti did to Karna for the fear of Razakars chasing to kill. Lakshmamma gets killed. Mallamma is rescued by Sambayya, a village man who nurtures her like his grand daughter like Kanva did for Shakunthala.
Sambayya knows that Mallamma is the daughter of Lakshmamma and Rajanna(Nagarjuna) a great freedomn fighter against British and also the rescuer of them from unscrupulous doras of gadis.
The girl Mallamma is good at singing since childhood. But dorasani (Sweta Menon) hates that. She orders her not to sing and punishes severely. Then the girl goes to Delhi to complaint to PM Nehru. What happens from then has to be watched on screen.
Performances:
Nagarjuna is at his best. He deserves commendations for doing such inspiring role. He looked strong with toned up muscles. He is physically inspiring.
Sneha is homely and looked sensuous in a song.
Annie is the highlight. She deserves awards for sure.
Alapati Lakshmi and Telangana Shakuntala appeared in notable but short roles. Ajay, Pradeep Rawat and Supreet are also guests with reasonable roles. Model Sreedhar excelled surprisingly and even Sweta Menon is at her best. Ravi Kale who is widely seen in Bollywood films appeared in a local dora's role.
Music score top points.
Highlights
  • Nagarjuna
  • Annie
  • Music
  • Story
  • Screenplay
Drawbacks:
  • Commercial elements like heroine and glamour
Analysis:
The film takes us back into the Razakars’ era. Hearts melt and eyes spill tears, while we watch the first half. One has to appreciate the efforts put in by Rajamouli and his team in pumping in emotion in key sequences. Yes, the film might been directed by Vijayendra Prasad, father of Rajamouli, but the ace director’s deft handling of the project was clearly evident. Especially, the action sequences, the tyranny of feudal lords in Gadis and the atrocities perpetrated by the cronies of Nizam on the people of Telangana ignite the spirit of patriotism among the audience.
It is definitely a notable film in the career of Nagarjuna. Yes, after Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu, this is one film that he can boast of as yet another precious jewel in his crown.
Annie deserves a great commendation and there are many chances for her to score brownie points by the juries of several award committees. She portrayed the role up to the perfection beyond her age.
Except a few liberties taken by the director that are hard to be digested by the sane audience, rest of the film is a must watch for an experience and to know the cruel incidents happened on the land of Telugus a few decades ago.
The first half is shouldered by little girl Annie in the role of Mallamma and Nagarjuna enters the screen just a few moments before interval. His entry scene – with British chaining the hero like they had done for Katta Bommanna – might create a feeling of hackneyed screenplay, but as the story runs, his character gets elevated. He seldom fights but instigates people to fight against tyranny. That’s awesome. This is the character inspired from Suddala Hanumanthu who used to evoke fighting spirit among the people with his songs.
The film has enough material for the Telugu people to experience the history. As a matter of fact, the film hasn’t shown too much of the atrocities committed by the Razakars on native people but, it just shows the glimpses of them, like a few shocking scenes such as weighing the breasts of women with money. Kudos to the censor board for allowing such bold scenes on screen with due respect to history.
To sum up, the film deserves patronage from audience for its content rich songs, emotional RR and bold depiction of history.

Bottom Line: Watch it

'Chubby Cheeks Bulky B...' Charmee

The common feature among many audiences in the south is, they want their heroines to be full. As in, they expect the heroines to be voluptuous and have that native sex appeal. One name that stands tall in this list is that of Charmee. Yes, though she is a Punjabi, Charmee has become very much a Telugu girl.

Recently, Charmee seems to have gone through a makeover in her figure and has become a hot topic of discussion among the cine folks. They say “With Chubby cheeks the Bulky Beauty, Charmee is becoming sexier by the day. The man who is going to marry her is going to be the luckiest.”

Though she was linked up in gossips since a while, nothing sensational ever happened. Sometimes, it was Devi Sri Prasad, then it was Krishna Vamsi, later on, it was Sonu Sood. While the list may have many names, let us see who the lucky one in Charmee’s life is going to be. For now, many are singing songs on Charmee like ‘Chubby cheeks, Bulky Beauty Charmee’.

Sridevi Looks Like Retired School HM

She is called the ‘Athiloka Sundari’ of the cine circuit and though she has passed her prime, there are many men and women who simply drool over her beauty.
She is none other than Sridevi. However, it appears that all that glory and glow seems to be a thing of the past.
Sometime back, Sridevi was seen in Tirupathi as well and comments about her old look were discussed. The latest was the CCL curtain raiser program and those who saw the pictures of Sridevi felt like she looked very drained out and malnourished. Apparently, those who got to see Sridevi in CCL pics are saying that she looks very old and resembles someone like a retired missionary school HM.
What remains to be seen is, whether Sridevi would be able to hide all this in her comeback film ‘English Vinglish’.

Ram Charan's Marriage Not In 2012 FH

Ram Charan-Upasana got engaged and awaiting the nuptial knot. But sources say that they are not going to be united with marriage in the 2012 First Half. The tentative muhurath is in the month of July 2012. It is revealed when Chiru was telling his close friends about this date.

Big Hero's Daughter Surprised At Being Tagged 'Sexy'

Actress Sonam Kapoor's uber cool look in her forthcoming film "Players" is earning her rave reviews. The "Saawariya" girl is surprised at being tagged sexy and thanks her sister for her new avatar.
"Can you believe people are calling me sexy. I don't know where to look when they call me that. I am like 'really me?'," she said at the launch of a new programe "Super Santa" for UTV.
"I don't know yaar, maybe I am like one of those girls. But it's nice to hear it for the first time in my life," added the 26-year-old who played a simpleton in her last film "Mausam" opposite Shahid Kapoor.
The first big release of 2012, "Players" promos are out and Sonam, who sports sytlish wardrobe and glamorous look, says her sister Rhea should be credited for turning her into a sexy diva in the action thriller.
"It's all because of my sister. She has very carefully chosen clothes for me. It's not typical sexy, but it is like edgy sexy," said Sonam, who was earlier styled by her sister Rhea for their home production "Aisha".
Coming out on Jan 6, "Players" also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Bipasha Basu.
Sonam debuted as a traditional girl in "Saawariya" in 2007 and later played girl-next-door in "Delhi-6".

Currently Sonam is filming for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" opposite Farhan Akhtar and would also start work on her sister's untitled next project soon. (IANS)

Nag Breathes Fire On Media!!!

Nagarjuna is one man who maintains a very cordial relation with the media at all times. However, as sweet and cool as he may be, when the media goes off track he makes it a point to ensure that they get a stick or two from him so that they don’t cause any goof-ups.

This time, it was the news about one Akhil who got caught due to drunken driving. As usual, the media showed its over enthusiasm and announced it as Akhil Akkineni whereas it was a noted race driver Akhil Khushlani. This has not gone well with Nag and he gave his piece of mind to them.

It is heard that Nag called up the media houses responsible for this news and gave full firing. He has reportedly added that Akhil who is barely 17 years old was very much with him and how the media folks can announce something like that without verifying the facts. Later the media right from TV to web corrected their mistake. Nag also alerted print media for not publishing something wrong.

Sanjay Dutt Cuts Out Madhu Shalini

Ram Gopal Varma tried. But looks like his big plans of creating the most expensive item number for Department, with current muse Madhu Shalini has just been crushed. That too, by lead actor of the film Sanjay Dutt.
Reportedly, Sanjubaba was in no mood to spend those extra bucks on a song that too featuring the south Indian actress. The song has now been scrapped and a Brazilian model has replaced Madhu in the film.
A source close to the film informed Mumbai Mirror, “Ramu wanted to shoot an item number featuring Madhu Shalini and Ganesh Acharya was supposed to choreograph the song.
However, Dutt, who is also the co-producer of the film was not very keen to shoot such an expensive item song featuring a relatively unknown actor.”
“A Brazilian model has now been roped in for the song. And since Dutt is busy shooting for Son Of Sardar in Patiala, this item number will now be shot in January,” added the source.
When contacted Ram Gopal Varma however said, “There is neither a song featuring Madhu Shalini nor a Brazilian model.”
Dharam Oberoi, Sanjay Dutt;s manager and producer of the film however, confirmed, “We are shooting a song with a Brazilian model in January as Sanju sir is busy with the shoot of Bigg Boss and Son Of Sardar.”
Denying having any knowledge about the song’s earlier star Madhu Shalini, Oberoi added, “I am not aware of the song being picturised on anyone earlier. As far as I am concerned, we are shooting it with the model. We recently finalised her, when she had come to meet Sanju sir.”

Sharwanand's Revolutionary Decision From 2012

Speaking about deserving talents not getting due recognition the name of actor Sharwanand figures prominently in the list. Despite possessing the right kind of looks and potential for performance, Sharwa’s commercial graph has been weak. However, the cine analysts got few tips for him.

They say “In 2012, Sharwanand should take a revolutionary decision. Basically, he should realize he is a very good actor and performer. But he should not go towards mass movies. He should work on doing offbeat movies without any language barriers.”

They add “He must explore himself towards Bollywood (its is good that he made his presence felt in Kollywood with Engeyum Eppodum) and prove his mettle as a performer and not try to get into commercial entertainers. If he tries to get into the regular mode, he might have to shut down the shutter. Proving oneself as a versatile performer always carries more future than proving oneself as a commercial actor for an artiste like Sharwanand".
Who knows, if properly planned, he may become a momerable actor in all India circuit. Why to wait for mass flicks?

'South Scope Or CCL'- They Sell Sex

The age old mantra of the entertainment industry has been ‘sex sells’. While those who followed it smartly made big bucks, there are those who are taking the path now. The reason we say this is due to the changes being noticed even in Tollywood and the focus shifting more towards sex appeal.

Sometime back, there was the much hyped South Scope magazine calendar. Some of the top league heroines were seen in hot poses taking inspiration from Kingfisher calendar. Of course, it was not upto that range but to the range of Tollywood, it was good. Though lot of hype for the magazine was created, it has faded.

Now, the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) has unveiled its calendar with sexy pictures of heroines. Those who saw this are saying “Whatever it is, the objective is to project themselves as big brands using glamorous heroines because sex sells. As it is, the Telugu audience have a sweet tooth for sex.”

Nag Using Rajamouli Up And Down

This may sound unusual but the brand value and market impact of director S S Rajamouli seems to be a bit higher than any of the top league heroes. The 100% success record of the tough taskmaster is the major reason for that. Now, these credentials seem to be getting used to the fullest.

The talk in filmnagar circles is “Though Rajamouli has done ‘Udutha Sahayam’ for the film ‘Rajanna’, Nagarjuna is projecting as if Rajamouli’s hand is very extensive in the project. This is purely for building up the craze over the film and cashing on the Rajamouli factor.”

However, the Aam Janta who saw the trailer say “No, Nag is right. Rajamouli’s hand is seen clearly in the trailers. There is no reason why the director’s name needs to be exploited if his presence is not strong. Moreover, Nag putting money on a film means there must be something viable in the project. In this case, it must be the presence of Rajamouli more than his father.”

Vishnu Bagged Rs 5 Cr @ CCL

Vishnu Manchu who owned Telugu Warriors team at season I has sold his stakes at Rs 5 cr to AMR group due to some commitments.
Although he is an ardent cricket lover, he wanted to focus more on his father's education business Sri Vidyaniketan for which they recently made fund raising in USA. However, he will be playing for the team.
According to the sources Venkatesh will lead the team Telugu Warriors.

Sensational Trailer Of 2011: Mahesh Babu's Uchcha Dialogue

The year 2011 is coming to an end and many are now talking about the films that made an impact and the songs that caused an effect. However, an interesting discussion also happened regarding a very important aspect of films, its trailers. The venue for this was the filmnagar club.

Those who took part in this discussion said “Out of all the trailers in 2011, the trailer of ‘Businessman’ showing Mahesh Babu’s Uchcha dialogue ranks top. Next comes the trailer of ‘Bezawada’ due to the controversy element. Of course, that didn’t have any impact on the response to the film.”

They add “‘KSD Appalaraju’ failed to attract though it came with a good trailer. Few other good trailers were from ‘Badrinath’ and ‘Shakti’. To some extent they created the hype. ‘7th Sense’ trailer was good. And the hottest and latest one to join this league is the trailer of ‘Rajanna’, it is doing major hungama.”

A Bharat Ratna for Chikni Chameli?

If Time magazine can make the ‘protester’ its person of the year, can the ‘ common man’ get the Bharat Ratna? The sentiment in Twitterverse seems to be in favour of the proposition. “ Every common man deserves a Bharat Ratna,” said a tweeter, “ for what we brave every single day from corruption, traffic, inflation to pollution.” Of course, the clamour was growing for a Bharat Ratna for Sachin Tendulkar, now that the government has modified the criteria for the highest civilian award to allow sportspersons. The handle # BharatRatna was trending on Twitter this weekend and most TV news channels had come up with their lists of who deserved the award. Twitter had two clear favourites — Tendulkar and the hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand.
Dhyan Chand seemed to be the unanimous choice and there were some uncharitable remarks directed at him.
Sample this: “I think Bharat Ratna must be given in each category like the Nobel Prize. Sachin has done nothing for society to get Bharat Ratna.” You may disagree but the tweeter has a point.
Of course, smart alecks had a field day taking potshots at politicians. “Bharat Ratna is now open for sports ... Hope people won’t recommend Sharad Pawar’s name for winning the World Cup instead of Tendulkar,” said one. Said another: “ Diggy should be given Bharat Ratna ( at least fake one) for his exemplary coaching service to the # idiotprince. This might boost his morale!” And there was one tweeter who seemed to be fed up of the constant adjournments of Parliament. “ If sports is included in Bharat Ratna, politicians stand a chance! They play kabaddi in Parliament.” # BharatRatna was serious stuff, but Katrina Kaif’s item number for Karan Johar’s Agneepath remake has also set the microblogging site on fire, though many were confused why # Chikni Chameli was trending.
An inspired techie tweeted: “Munni badnaam hui, Sheila ki jawani and now Chikni Chameli ... well, we indians can’t produce iPod or iPhone right ... but definitely iTems!!” But there are tweeters who aren’t impressed with Kat’s moves. “ Chikni Chameli is not a patch on Munni or Sheila. The melody is poor & lyrics are lost in Katrina’s enthusiastic gyration. Looks exhausting.” You must give it to her. Kat does get people talking.
