Nag Vs Balayya Vs Venky- Where Are They Heading??

Gone are the days when the Tollywood big guns were classified as ‘Big 4’- Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna, Venkatesh. Now, it is about the big 3 since Chiranjeevi has quit from the race. And right now, they have reached the crossroads of their career and life. So, the big question is where they will go from here. One thing looks certain that the senior stars are keen to continue as heroes for the next few years. But is that possible? Let us see…

Chiranjeevi’s situation is dangling right now as there is suspense over his 150th film. Most of them say that he is as good as out of the scene. As for Nagarjuna, he has begun to experiment with his roles and has been signing films with different genres. While he has projects like ‘Shirdi Sai Baba’ ‘Rajanna’ which will show him in a variety image, Nag seems to be determined to take the lead. Already, he has proved his mettle with flicks like ‘Annamayya’ ‘Srirama Dasu’.

As for Venky, news is that he is making plans to encourage offbeat and thinking cinema. Already, he is busy with his ‘Bodyguard’ which will show him in a different appearance and then there is ‘Seetamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’ slated to be a top shot multi-starrer. On the other hand, there is buzz that Venky will also be launching his own banner so that variety cinema can be entertained and he can also create a new image. Sources say since his brother Suresh Babu will not encourage such formulae, the brothers might take different routes in film production.

The only exception among the entire lot seems to be Nandamuri Balakrishna. Right now, he has a line up of projects and all of them are hard hitting mass masala entertainers. They are ‘Hara Hara Mahadev’ ‘Mahadevnaidu’. However, on the other side, Balayya is going back to his real passion- the mythological genre. He is already arriving with ‘Sri Rama Rajyam’ and there is also news that he is very particular about remaking the immortal ‘Narthanasala’. Interestingly, he has agreed to do a guest role in ‘Oo Kodathara Ulikki Padathaara’ and this is something new.

Overall, it looks like the Big 3 are here to stay for a longer time but the only twist will be that they would be doing more of experimental flicks and take their image to a different level. Let us see how the audience would receive this new taste.
