Ace filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says Ram Gopal Varma deserves a standing ovation for making a film like 'Idhi Prema Katha Kadu'. The film is a bi-lingual(Telugu, Hindi), which is inspired from the sensational murder of TV Producer Neeraj Groover. "RGV deserves a standing ovation for making a film like this. I think, he is fearless man. He used a new technology in this film. This film takes Indian Cinema to next level. It will surely touch the audience. Though it is titled 'Idhi Prema Katha Kadu' - In my view, it is actually a great love story," said Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh Bhatt watched the special screening of the film on Tuesday, August 16. The film features Mahie Gill('Dev D' fame) in the role of Kannada actress Maria Susairaj. In 2008, Television Producer Neeraj Grover was murdered in his own flat. Police arrested Kannada actress Maria Susairaj and co-accused, ex-naval officer Emile Jerome Mathew in connection with the murder. Maria Susairaj was released from prison last month, after spending 3 years imprisonment. Emile Jerome was sentenced to 10 years jail term. |
