‘Yugapurushudu’, a book on the 61 years of legendry Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s life as superstar was launched in Hyderabad on Saturday. Since it was NTR’s Jayanti on saturday, the book was launched.
Senior Journalist U Vinayaka Rao penned this book.
NTR’s daughter and Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswari was the chief guest for this book launch ceremony. Actor Murali Mohan, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Tarakaratna et al were present at the book launch ceremony.
Vemuri Radhakrishna, Prasanna Kumar,Achi Reddy, Saripalli Kondalrao, Atluri Venkata Jitendra et al gathered while the book was being launched.
Murali Mohan said that NTR’s life is worth emulating. He said that NTR created records both in film industry and politics. He expressed happiness over the book being launched by none other than his daughter Purandeswari.
“The title ‘Yugapurushudu’ suits my dad so well. He was a legend.He created sensation in cinema and political field. He brought respect to cinema industry and actors. I am today respected as Ramarao Saheb’s ‘Beti’ in Parliament. He is a mascot of Telugu pride. I am also planning to come up with a book on my dad. I am glad Vinayaka Rao has written such a good book on my father and I thank him for that” NTR’s daughter Purandeswari told at the book launch.
Kaikala Satyanarayana too remembered how people used to worship NTR as god those days. He recalled an incident where a few of his fans came to see him after their darshan at Tirupati. Apparently, they prostrated before him after they saw him in the make up of Lord Krishna.
“People worshipped the calendar with NTR’s photos. He was a phenomena Andhra Pradesh will never forget. He will live in the minds of Telugu people forever. I am proud to have worked with such a great artiste” Satyanarayana said.
