Chiranjeevi’s merger of his Praja Rajyam Party with Congress has become a very significant moment for many political followers. More than them, it is the impact on the mega fans, PRP activists. Now, another group has joined this and it is the people in the Andhra region. The most common thing they are quoting is the statement Chiru gave during the early stages of his political entry.
Apparently, he stated that merging with a party would be like strangling the neck of your mother. He added that he will work hard and with the support of his fans, he would establish his party and lead the state. Now, many are asking what happened to the statement. Sabapathy, a native of Rajahmundry said “whether Chiranjeevi has learnt the art of politics or not, he has surely learnt how to backstab like a true politician. He played with our faith in him. He gave a heroic statement about strangling mother's neck but now I say he has caught his mother's neck by merging the party” Yogesh, a student said “I went out of the way to support Annayya during election time and was confident that he would stick to his guns and bounce back but I never expected he will ditch all our efforts”.
Kareem, a resident of Guntur said “I think Chiranjeevi has taken the right decision. His ship was sinking so he did what best he could to those MLAs who stood by him even at the last hour. Now, if they get cabinet berths and positions, the merger is fruitful”. Sumitra, a housewife said “I have been a fan of Chiru since my college days and had high hopes when he got into politics but I never expected he will admit defeat so soon and lose his identity by merging his party”.
But Bhargavi, an LIC agent says “whether he rises or falls in politics, I don’t care. I love Chiru and I am just praying that he comes back and does that one last film so that he touches the 150 mark.” Madhusudhan Rao, a bank employee from Bhimavaram said “Chiranjeevi has brought disgrace to the Kapu community. We expected him to lead us and give a new identity but whatever little pride we had is lost now”.
While the views are many, it is only for time to tell whether Chiru did the right thing or not…
