Tollywood Suffers Huge Losses Due To That!!

The bad time of Tollywood has been continuing since few years. As if the flop of big films is not enough, here is another teething problem causing big trouble. We are talking about the strike which has struck the Telugu cinema in less than a span of six months and not one scene has been canned since the past ten days leading to huge losses.

Big films are getting affected due to that and notable among them are Mahesh Babu’s ‘Dhookudu’ NTR-Boyapati Srinu’s untitled film, Nani’s ‘Pilla Zamindar’ Ram-Hansika’s ‘Kandireega’ and Nikhil’s ‘Veedu Theda’. Even ‘Badrinath’ is reportedly stopped at dubbing stages. Apparently, the producers council came up with few initiatives in December 2010 to cut costs and this included slashing perks and remunerations for actors.

Now, the Andhra Pradesh Film Employees Federation has been on strike demanding hike in salaries. Few rounds of talks have taken place between the council and federation and a solution was arrived but still the strike has not stopped, as per sources. While 17 associations have agreed, it is heard that few other associations such as lightmen, production boys, technicians, costume unions are not accepting which is causing trouble. Lack of unity among the union leaders is said to be the problem.

Buzz is that producers like Ravi Kishore, M L Kumar Chowdary, Dil Raju etc are having tough losses due to this. The most affected are the daily wage workers and though talks are on, there seems to be a long way for this to end.
