There is a rather intriguing relation that exists between the life of a heroine and her presence in the cinema industry. Well, the span of her innings is short so she has to make a career for herself within that time. This leads to an aspect of not just the challenges but also ‘compromises’. The term ‘casting couch’ is quite common in the entertainment circuit. However, the question remains…should heroines be sexually liberal for their growth?
After speaking to a few of them, few inside aspects were revealed on condition of anonymity. A beautiful actress currently going through flops says “everyday, there are atleast three to four offers that come. These are not film offers but messages to visit a particular hero/producer/director in private. The idea is, if you ‘cooperate’ with them, then you will bag the required offers and make a good career”.
For some, it could be a choice but for some it becomes a compulsion. Another B-banner heroine who had a successful debut but is currently struggling revealed “I was mentally prepared for ‘anything’ as I heard how the industry will be like. Like I expected, things looked a bit difficult at start but I got used to it eventually. But there is nothing ugly in this industry as many opine. It may sound weird for conventional mind sets but nothing bad for open minds.”

Incidentally, the experience of many past heroines is that it is always better to refrain from sexual indulgences as the word spreads fast and in no time, everyone will be seeking to jump into bed with them. At the end of the day, it is the path the heroine chooses and the decisions she makes that will carve her career graph.
