I had a miscarriage, fine now: Dimpy Mahajan

There were reports last year that reality TV couple Rahul and Dimpy Mahajan were expecting their first child together. Dimpy confirmed the news, but informed that she suffered a miscarriage.

"It is true I was pregnant. But since doctors advise you to not reveal the news until the first three months, we didn't speak about it. But I don't know how this news leaked. Unfortunately I suffered a miscarriage in the very first month. It's a normal thing and I am fine," Dimpy told IANS on phone from Mumbai.

Dimpy married Rahul on national television in 2010. She pipped 14 contestants and over 16,500 applicants on Imagine TV's reality show "Rahul Dulhania Le Jaayega" to marry the son of late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan.

However, just four months after marriage, trouble started brewing when the Kolkata-based model accused Rahul of "punching, kicking and dragging" her. However, both of them later sorted out their differences and were back together. Dimpy says after two years, their bond has become much stronger.

"Our relationship has grown stronger over the years. We have had our share of ups and downs but now we understand each other much more than before and everything is going good," she said.

Meanwhile, Dimpy is set to make her small screen debut as Naagin Jwala on Sahara One's "Kahani Chandrakanta Ki" and says she is really excited about the show.

"I am playing a naagin (female serpent) in the show and I am really excited about it. Historical and mythological shows have always fascinated me. As a child I loved watching such shows because of their grand sets, clothes, jewellery and being part of it now is amazing," she said.

But carrying the costume and jewellery is not easy, says Dimpy.

Another reason behind her taking up this show was to clear the misconceptions that Bengalis can't speak pure Hindi.

"There is a misconception that Bengali people can't speak proper Hindi and what can be better than to be a part of a show like this and to prove people wrong. All the dialogues in this show are in pure Hindi language," she said.

So what kept you away from small screen for so long?

"The way we got married, I wanted some time to settle down, we had to understand each other more. Rahul always encouraged me to be a part of TV industry but I needed time and now after two years I feel it's time that I do something for myself," she said.

Mehr Rampal steps in 
Says a source, "Even at the bash she was confronted by Mehr Rampal about why she was at the party when she wasn't really a part of their clique or family. Shah Rukh however stood up and defended her then."

However, post that party Gauri's friends have made sure Priyanka isn't part of any of their social gatherings.


No place for PC at Agneepath success party
In fact all this is apparently the reason she wasn't present at Hrithik Roshan's Agneepath success party. Adds the source, "They said she couldn't attend the party because of some brand endorsements in Hyderabad, but the fact is that she wasn't invited. It was a party where Hrithik was celebrating the success of his film with his closest gang and obviously they did not want any unnecessary tension. In fact, Hrithik even tweeted a picture with Gauri saying she is the most beautiful woman in the world. Now that goes to prove how much Sussanne and he care for Gauri."

KJo gives PC a cold shoulder
Strangely, Karan Johar too seems to have joined the list of people who want little to do with the actress. Adds the source, "She was sidelined during the promotions of Agneepath as well, because Karan isn't too happy about the rumours doing the rounds."

PC's quick fix: In fact, it is Priyanka who is trying to go out of the way to make amends to no avail. She recently went up to Kareena Kapoor and hugged her at an awards event.


Films no more
Apart from the films she had already committed to over a year ago, there's nothing new coming her way. In fact, besides SRK, none of the senior superstars want to work with her. Says a source, "Salman has had a problem with her ever since God Tussi Great Ho. Akshay Kumar won't work with her. And Aamir Khan does not have an equation with her."

Current projects
At the moment she is working on Rakesh Roshan's Krissh 2, Anurag Basu's Barfi (Anurag too had a problem with PC throwing tantrums) and Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahani opposite Shahid Kapoor. However we hear that she completely ignored her ex-beau Shahid during a recent award function in Macau.

Adds a source, "She has had a love-hate relationship with Shahid and though she is doing a film with him, they don't share the kind of friendship they used to at one point."

And last we heard Karan Johar clarifying to the media that he hasn't signed any film with Miss Chopra.

Adds the source, "She has been part of one of Dharma's biggest hits to date, Agneepath. It's strange that despite that Karan hinted that he isn't really working with PC anytime soon."

PC's quick fix: We hear that PC now plans to devote more time to her music and is also planning a few concerts. In fact, the Creative Artist Agency (CAA) of Hollywood has signed her on as their first Bollywood client. Priyanka Chopra remained unavailable for comment.

Prakas Raj has got nothing to prove as an actor. He has got many accolades for his performance in various Indian language films. He has shown his adroitness in direction with the film ‘Akasamantha’ earlier in Kannada and proved that he has got the ability to make audience laugh and weep. Now he came up with Dhoni, an awareness film. Let us see how far he stood successful this time.

Story:
Subrahmanyam (Prakash Raj), a middle class man, strives hard to run his family and educate his two children. As he finds tough to make both ends meet with his modicum income, he also sells pickles and at times borrows money from people around. Due to his love towards his son and daughter he gives them very costly education that is beyond his pocket. But his son (Akash) loves cricket and finds no interest in studies. Subrahmanyam gets irritated with that and finds ways to make him study well. Although Akash completes till 9th standard, he says firm no to class 10th. Subrahmanyam gets angry with his motherless son and beats him hard. In the process Akash gets a bruise on head and gets into coma. What happens next is the story.

Performances:
As told above, it is needless to say about the performance of Prakash Raj. He excelled as middle class father perfectly. He resembled the neighbor next door. Kudos to him. But the director in Prakash Raj failed to exploit the actor in Prakash Raj in second half.

Radhika Apte has got apt role and ample screen presence. Murali Sharma is also perfect in his shoes. Master Akash has  got good future. He really performed well in key scenes where there is scope to unleash talent. Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam and Thalaivasal Ravi did their part well.

Analysis:
In this plot, there is an anguish to show the limitations in education system but director might have took that anguish as a revolutionary blow on society. Prakash Raj didn’t carve the plot in such away to build emotion among audience. How a father feels when his son goes to coma was not shown effectively. But as a producer and actor he did 100 percent justice to the film.

On a whole the plot is good but the execution part lacked conviction. The film that goes on right track in entire first half got derailed in the secord part. The required emotion lacked in large part. What’s the anguish of Prakash Raj’s character? Is he pointing out education system? Is he pointing out students? Is he pointing out to ban 17th table from tables book (one has to watch the film to understand this)? The confusion dominated the second half than the point to be communicated.

Ilayaraja’s music and Sirivennela’s lyrics gelled well. Cinematographer also excelled well but the screenplay lacked conviction as the story got advanced in second half.

The film neither makes audience carry an emotional feel nor makes them think towards a solution deeply. The film proved successful in raising the point but failed in giving solution. It’s a good attempt but not a good film.

Bottomline: Don’t build expectations with the title

Puri's 'Tapassu' For Pawan's Character!!

It is known news that sometime back a project was announced and this would have Pawan Kalyan as the hero while Puri Jagannadh would be the director. While speculations have been making rounds, here is the inside story. It is heard that Puri is yet to come up with a full script for the film.
 
Sources reveal he has gone to his den Bangkok along with his four member script team and is busy brainstorming. Buzz is that Puri is literally doing a ‘Tapassu’ to come up with a multi-shade character for Pawan. Given the fact that Pawan Kalyan is going through the roughest patch of his career, all measures are being taken.
 
It is heard that Puri is making double checks to ensure that he has all ammunition ready when he sits for story narration with Pawan. In all probabilities, the team is expected to return to Hyderabad in few days and once the narration is done, the shooting is expected to commence in May or June.

Balakrishna's New Film Title 'Sreemannarayana'

A lot of attention and brainstorming happens when the title for a big hero’s film has to be finalized. Factors like fan’s response, mass value and impact play a key role. And when the big hero is someone like Nandamuri Balakrishna, the responsibility becomes more.
 
Now, it is heard that one title is being locked for the new project of Balayya. This is being directed by Ravi Chavali and produced by Ramesh Puppala. The title has been given as ‘Sreemannarayana’ according to inside news. If one can recall, this was the name of Balayya’s character in his blockbuster movie ‘Simha’ in the role of a professor.
 
Though the title sounds soft, it is heard that the film is being packed as a high adrenaline action fiesta. Pressure On 'Autonagar Surya'

Just like his facial expressions, director Deva Katta and his films always carry a lot of intensity and pressure. Apparently, the film has Naga Chaitanya and due to Chaitu’s earlier movie ‘Bejawada’ turning out to be a flop, Deva Katta has lost the advantage. Susarla Dakshina Murthy Passed Away

Senior music director Susarla Dakshina Murthy passed away. He is 91 year old and was famous for his unbeatable music score for NTR's Nartanashala way back in 60s.

He debuted with Narada Naradi in 1949 and eventually scored music for films like Samsaram, Santanam, Ilavelpu, Annapurna, Krishna Leelalu, Srimad Virata Parvam, Nartanashala, Sreemad Virat Veerabrahmendra Swamy Charitra etc.

Dakshina Murthy has been suffering from age related illness from quite some time and passed away in Chennai a few hours ago. He scored music for about 135 films in his career. Greatandhra.com extends condolences for the family of the fallen music legend.

Sudhir Babu, brother-in-law of Mahesh Babu is making his debut with this movie and he has a new girl Regina as his leading lady. Let us see if this remake version from Kollywood works or not.

StoryShiva (Sudhir) works at a courier office and a train journey gets him to meet Shruti (Regina). He falls in love with her at first sight but he fakes that he is an army officer. Shruti also fakes that she is an airhostess.

After reaching Hyderabad, Shiva goes to airlines office only to discover the truth. Actually, Shruti is an RJ with Radio Mirchi FM. A chance delivery bumps Shiva with Shruti and from then on their cat and mouse game begins. In between their repulsion, Shruti discovers her love for Shiva. But when she wants to express it, Shiva’s activities and behaviour puts her off and she leaves him. Will both meet each other? Will their love become successful? All this forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Sudhir Babu has given a confident performance. He was good in dance and fight sequences. As such, he is not much of a handsome guy so he needs to bank on his other skills to cover that up. He needs to work on diction and modulation.

Regina was good. She has ease in front of the camera, expressive with her eyes and smile. But if she is planning to reach the top league, she must focus on upping her sex appeal and glamour quotient.

Vennela Kishore is a highlight actor. Though his role was brief, he scores maximum points during his presence. There is a lot of potential in him which needs to be tapped. He deserves a full length role in films.

The actor doing Sudhir’s friend role was hilarious. Rohini does a bit of overaction. Kasi Viswanath’s dialogues were good. RJ Hemanth was upto the mark. Tagubothu Ramesh brought few smiles. The others didn’t have scope.

Analysis
The film is the remake of the Tamil film ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ and this is more or less a ‘lift and shift’ from the original. The subject chosen must be appreciated and the idea of getting two people together under odd circumstances and their opposite characters was well studied.

However, what starts off as an interesting romantic entertainer suddenly begins to drift from the rhythm. The point here is, it is the heroine who is shown at fault for the various emotional rollercoasters that the hero goes through but the fact is, she is consistent and he is not. That tends to create the element of confusion. For whatever antics or inside conflict the hero does, the girl is made the reason which is not convincing. But that was covered up with humor quotient in good way.

This is a mass oriented film and the chances are high that many youngsters would want to connect with the character.  At a point, one gets a feeling whether the storywriter is a girl-hater or has been through some real bad experiences and this is one medium through which he is venting his frustration out. At the box office, the film would have decent openings and the entertainment works to an extent.

Bottomline: Good narrative with humor

Bollywood sizzler Kareena Kapoor and B-town hunk Arjun Rampal are all set for between-the-sheets action in Madhur Bahandarkar’s ‘Heroine’.

Apparently, Kareena had refrained from performing intimate scenes on the silver screen. The last time Kareena was seen in some hot action was opposite her beau Saif

Ali Khan in ‘Kurbaan’.

When Madhur asked

Kareena to perform real steamy scenes with Arjun in ‘Heroine’, Kareena categorically refused to do so. Lately, Kareena has decided to go against her decision and is expected to bed her co-star for a steamy scene in ‘Heroine’ on March 20.

Talking to a daily, Madhur said, “All I can say is that Kareena is an extremely professional and committed actress.”

Meanwhile, a source added, “A suburban five-star will be booked for the sequence, in which, Kareena starts off with smoking and drinking and ends up in bed with Rampal.”

It is believed that Madhur has asked his assistants to sign a ‘Confidentiality Contract’ while shooting the intimate scene between Kareena and Arjun.
