I respect Manchu family: Taapsee

Delhi girl Taapsee who was introduced to Tollywood by Lakshmi Manchu through her film ‘Jhummandi Naadham’ rubbished news reports that she criticized Manchu family. Taapsee reportedly refused to do a film suggested by Lakshmi Manchu recently and a few gossip websites and news channels reported that all is not fair between Manchu family and Taapsee.
Infact Manchu family supported Taapsee in the initial stages of her career. Not only did Lakshmi Manchu cast her in her film ‘Jhummandi Naadham’ with younger brother Manchu Manoj as the hero but also another brother Vishnu Manchu cast her in his own movie ‘Vasthadu Naa Raju’. Infact Taapsee used to stay with Lakshmi in her house.
However, Taapsee has clarified that all the reports of her criticizing Manchu family are false and rubbish.
“I have not been offered any film like that and I have not refused to do a movie suggested by Lakshmi. I have high regards for Mohanbabu uncle and his family. I don’t know who thinks and puts up such news without my consent. And whether I take up a project or not is completely between me and my producers. If there is no hot news, don’t cook up news” Taapsee posted online.
Taapsee now is one of the leading actresses in Telugu with Krishna Vamsi’s film in her kitty. She has a movie in Tamil, one in Hindi  and one each in Kannada and Malayalam also.

It's a big break for me: Tapsee

The girl from Ludhiana, Tapsee, is hot property in south India today. The year's chartbuster Yathe Yathe..., composed by G V Prakash for Aadukalam, was picturised on her, and lyricist Snehan had said that he was able to write the song after seeing Taapsee's "milky white complexion". Irene, the character she played in the film, provided Tapsee the perfect launch in Tamil cinema.
Today, all top Kollywood heroes want her for their films, though she has signed only Vandhaan Vendraan with Jiiva. The actress has become busy in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. She has signed her first film in Hindi — David Dhawan's remake of Sai Paranjpye's 1981 romantic comedy Chashme Buddoor. Tapsee tells CT, "I had finalized David Dhawan's remake of Chashme Buddoor a few months ago and was waiting for their official announcement. I'm very excited as I'm doing the role made memorable by Deepti Naval. I think it is a big break for me in Hindi cinema."

Meanwhile, this Vishu (April 15), Tapsee's first Malayalam film Doubles will hit screens. Says Tapsee, "I play the pivotal role of Saira Banu in Doubles. I sport a purda throughout the film. Doubles tells the story of twins, played by Mammootty sir and Nadiya Moidu, and how my character changes their life and causes misunderstanding between them. I do not play the love interest of Mammootty sir and there is a big twist in the end."

Tapsee's policy is clear — do as many films in the south and learn the art of doing commercial cinema. This, she believes, will help her to do Hindi films that depend on southern content these days. Says Taapsee, "The characters I've got so far are not that of typical glam girls; there's a lot of depth in the roles. I'm doing films with directors like Krishna Vamsi, and Kannan. I'm very choosy about the characters I play. In Tamil, I'm flooded with offers but will accept them only if the role excites me.

Tapsee gets Bollywood chance

Tapsee made debut in Jhummandi Naadam and caught everyone's attention. Soon she made debut in Tamil and succeeded there too. She is one of busy actresses in Telugu with two films - Mr.Perfect and Veera are ready for release. This chirpy beauty has now bagged a big budgeted movie in Hindi.

She has signed director David Dhawan's new film, remake of Chasshme Badoor (1981) . The original had Deepti Naval as the heroine, so David Dhawan chose Tapsee who looks 'fresh'.

Bollywood is now fascinated with heroines who got popularity through Telugu/Tamil films. Ileana is already doing a movie titled Barfee with Ranbir Kapoor and Kajal Agarwal is acting with Ajay Devagan.

Tapsee says skin show is temporary

Heroine Tapasee, who grabbed the attention of the youth through her skin show inJhummandi Nadam and Vasthadu Naa Raju , believes that such roles need not be repeated to ensure success.

Tapsee maintains that glamour is different from acting. At the same time, she accepts the fact that unless an artiste gets popular, her talent and glamour will fade away into nothing.

"An artiste will get offers only when his or her name gets popular among the audiences. It is a wrong belief that a heroine, who is at her glamorous best at the beginning of the career would continue to depend on the skin show. I have a lot of time to go before I could consolidate my career. After experimenting with all kinds of roles, I will go for characters that will fetch me awards," she said.
