'Maaveeran' Rocks Kollywood

Maaveeran, the dubbed version of ‘Magadheera’ proved super hit in Tamil as well. The film made Rs 8 Cr stunningly where the investment of dubbing procedures including everything was just Rs 1.5 Cr.

That is the intelligent move by Allu Aravind who tied up with Udayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies to release in entire Tamilnadu. The result is quite good and the Tamil cine buffs are happy with this. This may raise curtain for many Telugu to Tamil dub movies down the line.

But on the other hand Jr NTR’s ‘Shakthi’ has bitten mud miserably in Tamil.

Ramcharan Selling Ice Cream & Popcorn In TN

When it comes to creativity in business or drawing the crowds, the cine folks always stand first.
Right now, something like that is happening in the interior part of Tamil Nadu and the reason for that is to promote Ramcharan Tej’s only blockbuster ‘Magadheera’.

Apparently, the film has now been released in dubbed version titled as ‘Maaveeran’. It is heard that in a place called Lalgudi, the main theatre Anbu has begun to come up with a scheme to lure the audience. Incidentally, they are giving free ice cream and popcorn to the audience.

Speaking about it, the theatre manager revealed that they were having high expectations on the film but the collections were very disappointing in the first week of release. So, they introduced the free concept. Those who came first got ice creams and those who came later got popcorn. This has improved the response and from a few dozen people, the turnout is now around 100 to 150 people. Well…looks like Cherry’s film has to give free ice cream and popcorn for better business.

Magadheera: For Popcorn or Ice Cream?

Hard and biting reality is that super hit movies in present times will at most run for three to four weeks in cinema theatres. We are finding very few movies celebrating 50 or 100 days functions. So, aim of producers and distributors will be to pull maximum number of audiences to theatres in these three to four weeks of time. Same principle applies for small and big budget films. Budget is a subject of relevance only for producers but not to viewers.

Film which we are to discuss about is ‘Maaveeran,’ the Tamil version of ‘Magadheera’ having a pathetic run in Tamil Nadu. The turn out of viewers to a theatre in Trichy was so disgusting that owners cancelled the matinee show. Although film was released in three theatres in Trichy, it is hard for one theatre to breakeven now. In a hard planned effort to bring audience to the theatres, a Tamil report says Anbu Cinema Hall in Lalgudi has come up with announcement that those who buy the ticket for ‘Maaveeran’ will be given a cup of ice cream free of cost in interval. The very next show, board was ‘Ice Cream out of stock, viewers can collect Pop Corn.’ Fact is that as ice creams are going wasted with useless electricity bills needed for refrigeration, owner changed it to pop corn.

Selling Ram Charan with Allu Arjun tag!

Selling Ram Charan with Allu Arjun tag!
Popularly known as shrewd businessman among trade circles, ace producer Allu Aravind's money-making ideas are sometimes shocking too. It is already known that Aravind has planned to make huge bucks by dubbing Ram Charan's blockbuster 'Magadheera' into all south languages.

Apparently, Magadheera already got released as 'Maaveeran' in Tamilnadu to make decent figures at the BO. However, the publicity stunts of the same flick in Malayalam area is the shocking one. As Allu Arjun got very popular in the Malayalam circuit already, all of 'Magadheera' posters are printed with the tag 'Allu Arjun Presents' along with his photo in the side. Aravind's idea to cash on his son's image for marketing Ram Charan’s flick became a talk of town now. Critics stated that these kinds of publicity stunts by Allu Aravind worked big time in Malayali circuit, as already 12 more 'Dheera'('Magadheera' malayalam version) prints were added just three days after its release.

Set in a periodic background with spine chilling action sequences, Ram Charan's magic flick 'Dheera' is doing exceedingly well in Malayalam. Great going Allu Aravind!.

What Damaged 'Maaveeran' Reviews?

The biggest blockbuster of Tollywood has now gone to take the litmus test in other cine circuits. We are talking about ‘Magadheera’ which has released in Tamil as ‘Maaveeran’ and ‘Dheera’ in Malayalam.
Although a few reviews on websites and blogs are positive, reviews from the Kollywood folks have not been that encouraging, as per sources.

“What is so great about this film?” is the comment being seen in various local magazines of Tamil Nadu.
Meanwhile, the analysts have listed out few reasons why the film is getting average reviews. Firstly, the original was released in 2009 and the dubbed version is now arriving in 2011. In between, they saw ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ and ‘Enthiran’. In both films, they have seen top level grandeur that’s why ‘Maaveeran’ didn’t appeal so timing is the problem.
Secondly, another comment is that nativity didn’t match, the faces and backdrop didn’t suit as the Tamil folks look for more natural and realistic environments.
Last but not the least, the first 45 minutes brought lag and after that the film picked up. The Kollywood folks say usually a blockbuster should be charging right from start to end.

Ram Charan managed Chiru's absence

Ram Charan managed Chiru's absence
The audio launch of 'Maaveeran' is a special moment for Chiranjeevi because his son Ram Charan is having the first step forward into Kollywood. Unluckily sudden demise of Sathya Sai Baba made mega star to bunk the program in Chennai on Sunday, which made Ram Charan to play the host with Allu Aravind, Allu Sirish and Rajamouli standing besides him.

According to the sources, no dubbing film had such a big launch in Tamilnadu till date. This magnificent audio launch event was graced by legendary Kamal Hassan, Mr and Mrs. Maniratnam. Speaking to the guests, Ram Charan shared his relation with Chennai where he did schooling and also claimed that he can speak and understand Tamil language. Chiranjeevi always wanted his son to do Tamil films while idea of 'Maaveeran' also belonged to him. Calling this film as a perfect pack of mass elements, Ram Charan expressed his future plan to do a direct Tamil film in year end with a noted director. As dignitaries on the stage blessed Ram Charan for a success, it was all the way a thorough professional show from mega power star.

Ram Charan shocks Tamil journalists

Mighty hit Magadheera is being dubbed in Tamil as Maaveeran and the release is just days away from now. Audio launch of Maaveeran was done a couple of days ago in a grand manner. Ram Charan surprised Tamil journalists by speaking in perfect Tamil.

Even Rajamouli and Allu Aravind too spoke in Tamil. Ram Charan spent most of his childhood days in Madras and it is no wonder that he can speak fluent Tamil. When actresses from other languages couldn’t speak a word of Tamil even after acting in numerous Tamil films, a Telugu hero addressing in their own language shocked the journalists who were present at the audio launch.

Geetha Arts collaborated with Red Giant films and releasing Maaveeran in a spectacular fashion. No dubbed film was released in Tamil with so much hype says analysts from Tamilnadu. Let’s hope Maaveeran live up to all the hype and extend our business frontiers to Tamilnadu.

Super Stars gracing Mega Power Star
Allu Aravind and Chiranjeevi were although a bit late in releasing 'Maaveeran'(Tamil version of Magadheera), finally the Ram Charan's flick will be hitting the Tamil screens in this summer.  We already know that Tollywood's industry hit 'Magadheera' is dubbed into Tamil as 'Maaveeran' while Geetha Arts is allied with Udayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies in planning this giant Kollywood release.

Audio launch of 'Maaveeran' was scheduled to be held last week (16th April) in presence of Super Star Rajinikanth but called off at last minute due to unforeseen reasons. Finally, audio album will be released today at Adyar Park, Chennai at 7PM with Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Versatile actor Kamal Hassan and maverick director Mani Ratnam gracing the occasion as chief guests.

Massive response to trailers of 'Maaveeran' aired in cinema halls will be a positive sign before audio release. Being the potential blockbuster, there is every probability that Ram Charan will rewrite old records even in Kollywood.
