Are Mythological and Devotional films, only the cup of tea of veteran directors? Names of either Singeetham Srinivas Rao or Raghavendra Rao or Bapu are daring on these kinds of films while present genre top most commercially successful men like SS Rajamouli, VV Vinayak and others are limiting themselves to words but not deeds. Luckless that all the above said veterans delivered hits with Mythological/Devotional subjects only on partial scale because films like ‘Sri Krishnarjuna Vijayam,’ ‘Sri Manjunatha’ and ‘Pandurangadu’ were big flops.   Present snap of the subject is release of ‘sri rama rajyam’ in coming few weeks and onus is on Balakrishna, Bapu. If this combination succeeds in touching the hearts of audience with this film, definitely pressure will be mounted primarily on Rajamouli and Vinayak because these two normally wag their tongues raising excitement in audience talking now and then on ‘Dana Veera Sura Karna’ or ‘Mahabharatham.’ Of course, they have shown no progress till now in action practically.  Are they really feared of touching Mythological subjects or aren’t they really worth while?

Directer just wants 75 from Mahesh Babu

Crazy director Puri Jagannath has reportedly planned to complete the shooting of the film 'The Businessman', which stars Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead, in just 75-odd days. Puri has asked Mahesh to allot 70-75 days of his call sheets for his film. Puri will start the shoot from September 1st. And within 75 working days, he will wrap up the entire talkie part. This move by the director has not only surprised the Tollywood folks, but also the unit members of the film. These were the days, Top Directors are taking more than a year to complete a star hero's film. But, Puri wants to show that he is not one of those! If everything goes well, two films of Mahesh Babu will release within just 4-5 months gap for the first time in his career. Dookudu is expected to hit screens in the second week of September.  'The Businessman' is slated to release on Jan 12, 2012.

The devotional month of 'Dusshera' is arriving soon and Tollywood is all set for the festive season. While the devotees of God spent 9 nights for the sacred 'Devi Navratrulu', the fans of this demi-god are waiting for that big day(release date) eagerly. Most talked flick of the season, 'Dookudu' is creating all sorts of intense hype as the release date is approaching fast. If sources are to be believed, the film will be releasing in the second half of September as a Dussehra treat. Kids and family ladies want to complete the vacation with this high punch action-comedy from ace director Sreenu Vytla. Fans are expected in herds leaving theatres with no space even for air to enter for the sake of Demi-God Superstar Mahesh Babu. With its rocking trailers and punch filled mass-dialogues, the film has already scored few brownie points. Looks the graphs of many star heroes will be altered provided with the stupendous success of this flick. There is nothing more to say now other than waiting for that release date.

Superstar extends support to Anna Hazare

Superstar Rajinikanth extended support to social activist Anna Hazare's India Against Corruption (IAC) movement on Tuesday. "There can be no doubt that corruption is a dreaded disease that needs to be weeded out from the Indian society. I am very happy that we have a very able and dedicated leader in Anna Hazare to lead us in this fight against corruption. I whole-heartedly support the India Against Corruption Movement in their campaign to get Jan Lokpal bill legislated in parliament," said Rajinikanth in his statement to IAC. "I congratulate all the Indians who have lent their support to this bloodless revolution. This kind of peaceful movement is possible only in India which is the birthplace of satyagraha. I am very proud to be an Indian," he added. IAC has welcomed Rajinikanth's support, with a statement: "This support should go a long way in creating an awareness among the public on Anna Hazare, Jan Lokpal bill and India Against Corruption."

South Films didn't excite me much: Asin

Sexy Beauty Asin spoke at length about films and what's her criteria in accepting an offer. The Actress says she is still connected to the South, as her roots were here. "I am very attached to the South as my roots are here. This Industry has made me an actress. What I'm today is just because of South Films. I'm still getting offers from Telugu, Tamil  and Malayalam every day. It was not a conscious decision to go away from South Industry," said Asin. Though the actress is saying that she has high respect for South, Asin hadn't signed a single South film though many film makers approached her. However, Asin defends by saying scripts from south didn't excite her much. "In South, I want to do something different as I had done the routine song & dance roles already in the past. I'm waiting for the right script to knock my door. I am always willing to do a South film, if the script excites me. Currently, I'm doing more Bollywood films because the work offered to me here is exciting," said the actress. Asin clarifies that remuneration was never her criteria in accepting a film. "Money was never my criteria in accepting or rejecting a film. My priorities were 1) Script 2) My Role 3) Director 4) Production House  5) Co-stars. The language and the remuneration comes into consideration only after this," Asin told.

She is my soulmate: Ram Charan

For the first time, Ram Charan has spoken about his fiancée Upasana Kamineni, by announcing that she was the girl he wants to share his life. "Yes, She is my soulmate," said Ram Charan. Though the reports of their link-up have been making rounds over the past one and half year, the couple denied them by saying they were just friends. Ram Charan finally admits that they have done so as they don't want to hurt their parents. "We don't want to hurt our parents. We have decided to make it public only after getting nod from both the families. We informed them seven months ago and they have given their nod. Now, we are spending more time together and I got to know more about her. I'm ready to enter into new phase of my life," said the actor. Ram Charan said that he found Upasana to be the ideal life partner even when they were just friends. "Even when we were in a group, Upasana used to show a personal interest in me and was always supportive. I realised that she is an ideal life partner for me, as she was the one who knows me better," he says. Unlike Ram Charan, Upasana is not a movie buff. "She is not a typical movie buff. But, she likes romantic films produced on Yash Raj films banner," he adds. Ram Charan recently bought a pair of earrings, which was gifted to Upasana by his parents. Apparently, Ram Charan's engagement will take place by the end of this year and wedding in 2012. The young actor is also planning for his honeymoon in the mid of 2012 by taking a week long break from his busy shooting schedule.

1st Dabba reaches 'Cinematographer' House

General notion of film industry is to run after successful directors and heroes even though they are just one flick old. After scoring his debut success, this 'cinematographer' is now running high with 'dabba' reaching his home. Santosh Srinivas, the guy who directed 'Kandireega' is on cloud nine for the successful show of his movie at the Box Office. Reports say that a noted producer of Tollywood offered him a 'mega' chance to this cinematographer-turned-director and sent a 'dabba' to confirm it. Dabba means not a sweet box, but literally a box that consists around 50 lakhs of money. If sources are to believed Santosh got the chance to direct Stylish Star Allu Arjun in his second flick as the producer is having his dates with him. No doubt, more 'dabbas' will be sent to Santosh's house once he announces this deal to the public. Interestingly, Santosh earlier worked for many Allu Arjun's movies as an associate cinematographer.

Anushka escapes Dance-Master's revenge!

A big-wig from Tollywood says that Fight Master and Dance Master are the two tough guys who will show their best in ego when it comes to doing work. Thinking like legends, these fellows never listen to director or cinematographer once they get the big break. Best example for this is choreographer-turned-director Raghava Lawrence. Apparently, Lawrence is in the bad-books of almost all directors of Telugu cinema for his 'extras' done during choreographing songs. Coming to the point, this 'extra' has roped in curvaceous beauty Anushka for the lead role in his 'deyyam' flick 'Kanchana'. However, Lakshmi Rai is roped into the mainstream as Anushka walked out of the project sighting her less important role in the script. The due again faced each other when Lawrence is to direct Prabhas in 'Rebel'. An angry Lawrence tortured Anushka in all possible ways to make her work like *****. Finally, with the intervention of a big hero, Anushka walked out of the project leaving Prabhas dejected. Surely, this is a positive sign for her as she has escaped the revenge drama of Lawrence miraculously, an industry insider added. 'Dookudu' Creating History During Release

Whenever a big star’s film is round the corner, the frenzy is high and a lot of hype is created. All this doubles when it is Mahesh Babu.

Given the following and the hysteria he creates, these are natural. Now, it is heard that his new movie ‘Dookudu’ is all set to create history during its release.

The makers are planning to release the film in highest number of theatres and create a record. The release date is scheduled to be announced in two days. Never in 80 years of Tollywood history has this happened.

Due to the record release in theatres, strong openings are expected and that could create another record.

On the other hand, many say it is better if ‘Dookudu’ gets postponed and comes during Dussehra festival. Actually, the makers planned for long weekend during August 31st due to Ramzan, Vinayaka Chavithi but that’s not working out. So now, it is heard that many are suggesting not releasing the film in haste.

Buzz is that even the producer is thinking the same. As such, Mahesh has become rare piece in Tollywood who appears once in two years. Many think that’s negative. But truth is, his aura has grown and focus on him has increased due to that rarity. His fans are there in ladies and general audience so they would be flocking to see him onscreen the moment ‘Dookudu’ arrives.

Some of the noted producers in Tollywood are currently busy watching DVDs of their previous films and whiling away time.

The stage now belongs to only two people- Bellamkonda Suresh and Bandla Ganesh.

Recently, Bellamkonda scored two back to back hits with the dubbed flick ‘Kanchana’ and the straight film ‘Kandireega’.

Also, there is news that he has remake rights of three more movies along with dates of three big heroes.

On the other hand, his two projects ‘Ganga-The Bodyguard’ with Venkatesh and ‘Hara Hara Mahadev’ with Nandamuri Balakrishna are already on the floors.

As for Ganesh, he has come up with ‘Teen Maar’ starring Pawan Kalyan and is now busy with ‘Gabbar Singh’ starring Pawan again. On the other hand, he has already signed a two film deal with Junior NTR which would be directed by Srinu Vytla and Puri Jagannadh respectively.

That way, a competition of sorts has emerged between Suresh and Ganesh.

He is none other than Navadeep and the talk is that he has gone into depression. The reason for that happens to be Navadeep’s latest offering ‘Mugguru’. The film has turned out to be an utter flop. And with Navadeep being essayed as the lead hero, it is heard that he is unable to digest this poor performance at the box office.

The consolation for him is that, amongst all the heroes and heroines, it is Navadeep who scored in the looks and performance department. News is that for the film ‘Ganga- The Bodyguard’, Trisha would be looking her sexiest best like never seen before. Since Venkatesh is reeling with four flops, it is heard that on Suresh Babu’s instructions, Trisha is being shown in the hottest way.

Incidentally, sources say producer Bellamkonda Suresh put lot of pressure on Trisha to sport a bikini in the film. He was ready to shell an extra Rs 35 lakhs for that.

But Trisha who is gearing up to get married and settle down has reportedly declined it but agreed to give a hot steamy show in the film. For this, she has reportedly demanded additional Rs 25 lakhs and settled for Rs 15 lakhs.

Unit members reveal that there is a very hot rain song between Trisha- Venkatesh and a special scene showing Trisha swimming is also being created. They add that Trisha is giving full cooperation for all this.

Rajasekhar-Jeevitha In Underground

Once in two months, it was a ritual for the film couple Rajasekhar- Jeevitha to appear in talk shows and interviews of TV news channels and keep blasting Chiranjeevi. But now, it is heard that both have gone underground and prefer to keep away from the electronic media.

A source moving closely with the couple reveals “Chiranjeevi has gone to congress officially and has become more powerful. Y S Jagan has kicked them out. So, they can’t go to congress or YSR Congress. There is no use going to TDP at this point as it is weak and even if they do, they will not be allowed to do any publicity stunts. They have become silent thinking why to take risk.”

Since not much is happening in the film circuit as well, here is an interesting joke in filmnagar circles. They say “Who knows? the couple might simply go ahead and join TRS and sing Telangana songs. When Vijayasanthi can do it, why not them? All they need is publicity and what better way than to use TRS for that.”

Film stars supporting Hazare, a big joke!

The fight against corruption launched by veteran social worker Anna Hazare has been reduced to a farce with every Tom, Dick and Harry coming forward with rallies and dharnas in the name of supporting Hazare and for introduction of Jan Lok Pal Bill in Parliament.

In fact, there were reports from New Delhi that certain high profile personalities and leaders came to Ram Leela Maidan in a drunken state to extend support to Hazare.

The poor old man had to make an appeal to the people not to come to the rally in a drunken condition.

Now, even film stars have started talking against corruption in the society.

On Tuesday, Tamil film industry conducted a rally in support of Anna Hazare and his fight against corruption.

A couple of days ago, the Telugu film industry too took out a rally and organized deeksha to express its total solidarity with Hazare.

One wonders whether these film stars have any moral ground to talk about corruption.

The top actors collect their remuneration in lakhs and crores, but none of them takes the amount in white – 90 per cent of it is given in black. And they don’t pay income tax even for the small amount they take in white.

Several of them have put in their money in various commercial and business activities, but nothing is shown properly in the account books. Take for example Movie Artistes Association president Murali Mohan, who has a large network of real estate ventures in and around Hyderabad in the name of Jayabheri Estates. He had once faced a case under Section 420 of IPC (cheating) in Madhapur police station in Hyderabad for irregularities in taking up a real estate venture.

Similarly, there were corruption charges against Babu Mohan, when he was a minister in Chandrababu Naidu cabinet. Such people’s participation in the anti-corruption rally is really shameful. Don’t you agree with that?

It is heard that Sunil went crazy after doing a photo session with Isha and has reportedly conveyed a message through his dance master that Isha must have dance practice sessions with Sunil since he is a good dancer, better than Allu Arjun.

With this, Isha reportedly requested the help of Sunil for dance practice. At first, Sunil gave a build-up and then obliged. Now, it is heard that he has taken her to his farm house and has been doing ‘dance practice’ with her. One need not explain what happens between breaks or after the dance practice is over.

RR Venkat puts pressure on Jr. NTR

RR Movie Makers launched a distribution house recently has been on a buying spree. They have bought the rights of Dhada, Oosaravelli and Rajanna for whole Andhra Pradesh, all for an astronomical price. RR bought Oosaravelli AP distribution rights for 27 crore rupees which is highest among all NTR films.             However, they bought the rights for such a whopping price with few conditions. One of those is Oosaravelli had to release on or before Vijaya Dasami. The latest buzz from Tollywood says that it is highly impossible for Oosaravelli to make it to theatres before Dussera.             Knowing this, RR Movie Makers Venkat is putting pressure upon Oosaravelli producer to release the film by Dussera at any cost. Or else he would take back the advance and he will have to start hunting for new buyers. So now NTR has to step in to negotiate the deal with RR Venkat or work round the clock to finish off the film, which is highly unlikely.
