With no signs of the statehood demand being met in the normal course in near future, the Telangana protagonists are now pinning their hopes on some tectonic changes in the state politics to revive the movement.
They believe that it is only by the collapse of the present Congress government that such tumultuous changes can occur. In the political aftermath of such a shock treatment that new alignments will emerge.
“We are sure that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government will collapse soon, probably after the budget session of the assembly,” the Telangana Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram and Telangana Nagaara Samithi president Nagam Janardhan Reddy.
The TRS leader Jupally Krishna Rao also agreed with them and went a step further, saying that “indications” to this effect have come from the Congress camp itself. All the three leaders said that they would undertake bus yatra across Telangana soon.
The people of Telangana would teach the betrayers a fitting lesson the coming elections.
“The Telugu Desam Party’s Telangana Forum is as good as a dead organization,” Nagam said.
