Best Music Director 2011 @ Nandi Confirmed

Though it will be a while before the list for the Nandi award winners of the year 2011 will come out, the Tollywood folks have already finalized one winner for a category. This is the best music director and they vouch that the winner for that is going to be none other than maestro Ilayaraja.

The reason for that is the ‘Isai Gnani’s compositions for the devotional movie ‘Srirama Rajyam’. The talk in filmnagar circles goes like this “Though Ilayaraja has not been upto his best in the recent past, he showed his flashes of brilliance through films like ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’. Now, he has shown that he still has a lot of material in him through ‘Srirama Rajyam’.”

Despite the mixed report that the music lacked the flavour of Ilayaraja’s grandeur, the audio of ‘Srirama Rajyam’ has become a major hit and many family audiences have been impressed. Given the flow of films that have come so far and the songs they have churned out, Ilayaraja’s tunes are standing tall with quality and refreshing appeal. That makes him the hot favourite for the Nandi award.
