Tamil Thambis Competing With 'Dookudu'

While there is the regular internal competition between actors and actresses, there is also an interstate competition. This is between the Tollywood and Kollywood circuits. Of course, there is not much discussion on it but each circuit does their best to come up with strong hits and create new records.
 
Now, the box office result of the film ‘Dookudu’ pumped fresh oxygen into Tollywood business and its mind-blowing collections created a record. However, reports from Chennai are that the Kollywood folks are planning to beat ‘Dookudu’ with their Diwali release ‘Velayudham’ which is remake of the Telugu movie ‘Azad’.
 
As part of this, it is heard that they got the noted trade analyst Taran Adarsh to put a tweet which goes like this - "Tamil film Velayudham is rocking internationally. Opening weekend biz in UK and USA is excellent".
 
Similarly, efforts are reportedly on to get articles published in foreign newspapers since ‘Dookudu’ was mentioned by LA Times. An insider from the ‘Velayudham’ camp revealed that the Tamil Thambis are also working on coming up with new initiatives to show that ‘Velayudham’ has crossed ‘Dookudu’ collections wise.
