The ongoing indefinite strike by the people of Telangana for separate statehood has hit the film shootings.
On Friday, the Telangana activists stalled the shooting of “Autonagar Suryaa” starring young hero Naga Chaitanya and heroine Samantha at Chinna Shapoor village near Jeedimetla on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The film based on a political theme in the backdrop of rowdyism in Vijayawada has not been taken kindly by the Telangana agitators.
Though they did not resort to any vandalism, they asked the unit members to pack up and leave the place, while raising Jai Telangana slogans. The shooting has been cancelled.
The film shooting actually began on October 6, on the occasion of Dasara. For the first time, Naga Chaitanya is portraying the role of a rowdy, deviating from his lover boy image. It is being directed by Devakatta and produced by K Atchi Reddy under the banner of Max India Production. Anoop Rubens is composing the music.
