Liquor Mafia Turns Tables On Kiran

The sensational disclosure by liquor syndicate leader N Ramana in his confession to the Anti-Corruption Bureau authorities has shaken the Kiran Kumar Reddy government in the state, which is already in troubles with the proposed resignation of health minister D L Ravindra Reddy.
The media on Wednesday splashed the news of the ACB’s remand report to the court, quoting the confession of Ramana who said he had paid Rs 10 lakh to excise minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, besides big money to many other politicians hailing from the Telugu Desam Party, the CPI, the CPI (M), the TRS and others, besides some media persons.
One does not know the veracity of this confession, but it is certainly a daring attempt by the liquor mafia to turn the tables on the Kiran government.
Apparently, the liquor syndicates have decided to spill the beans on the high level corruption indulged in by the politicians, including MLAs and ministers. This is in retaliation to the spate of raids by the ACB authorities aimed at preventing the liquor traders from making big money by violating the MRP.
So, the small fish have decided to expose the big fish. It is a different matter that those who are in power will manage to hush up the case and wipe out the evidences, but the exposure is surely a blot on the Congress party!
