YSR Congress party official spokesman Ambati Rambabu on Wednesday accused Central Bureau of Investigation joint director V V Lakshminarayana as “Leeku Veerudu” as he was the one who was making selective leaks to a section of media operating against YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
“Take for example my own experience. I was questioned as a witness by four CBI officers. What happened during the questioning when I was called under section 160 as witness has come in the press. As there is no chance that I would be giving the information to them, it is clearly evident that the leak came from the CBI itself. This raises serious questions about the sanctity of the investigation agency,” Ambati said.
He said whether or not Lakshminarayana was acting on his own or was being directed by some others was a matter of concern, but the case was not going in the right direction.
He wondered why the CBI had not questioned former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, though the Emaar case had its roots in 2002 and the GO was issued during Naidu regime. “The issue was raised many times and even the Supreme Court has given direction to CBI to look into the matter from that date, but CBI did not heed to that,” he said.
“It is very evident that the investigation is going on in a wrong direction and is aimed at targeting YS Jaganmohan Reddy and YSR Congress Party,” he said.
